Abstract Humankind's main defence against the virus that cuases COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), besides vaccine development, was co-ordinated behaviour change. In many countries, co-ordination assisted by tracking surveys designed to measure self-reported and attitudes. This paper describes an alternative, complementary approach, which undertaken in close collaboration with officials Department of Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister). We adapted Day Reconstruction Method (DRM) develop ‘Social Activity Measure’ (SAM). The study conducted fortnightly for 18 months, findings delivered directly Department. method shows how SAM generated a detailed picture where why transmission risk occurred. By using DRM, we built aggregate measures from narrative accounts individuals spent their previous day. recorded amount, location type social activity, including incidence contact mask-wearing, as well compliance public health restrictions shops businesses. also permitted analysis perceptions comprehension are related behaviour. results informed government communications strategies lifting restrictions. could be applied other future situations might require over extended period.

The memory palace, a mnemonic technique from ancient Greece, remains widely used for competitions and learning. This study introduces procedurally generated virtual palace combined with the Worlds-in-Miniature (WIM) interface in reality. WIM enhances spatial perception by providing miniaturized visualization of enabling instant movement between locations. Focusing on recognition memory, an experiment 40 participants was conducted to measure performance under conditions without interface. Each participant memorized 30 target images within completed task distinguishing targets non-targets. Data included immediate follow-up assessments at 7 14 days evaluate long-term retention. results showed that significantly improved particularly among lower initial success rates. By structuring, facilitated stronger associations, leading enhanced recall accuracy sustained method demonstrates potential VR palaces as effective tools supporting memorization-based learning education training contexts.

How temporal and contextual information interactively impact on behavior brain activity during the retrieval of order about naturalistic episodes remains incompletely understood. Here, we used fMRI to examine effects signals derived from content movie neural correlates underlying memory temporal-order in human subjects both sexes. By contrasting SAME versus DIFF storyline conditions cinematic events, found that activation precuneus, as well behavior, are significantly modulated according condition, supporting our prediction contributing retrieval. We suggest precuneus engages via reconstructive mechanisms, entailing search within a movie-specific, situational knowledge-structure. Furthermore, information-based analyses multivoxel revealed also contains context-independent linear representation distances, consistent with chronological organization traces. thus put forward events encoded rich dynamic contexts relies joint contribution which rely medioposterior parietal cortex humans. SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT Successful episodic is dependent signals. However, when multiple storylines or narratives complex intertwined, behavioral underpinning interplay between time context not completely Here characterized level pattern BOLD modulation such judgment precuneus. Our findings provide us an elucidation subprocesses implicating medial realizing details.
