Abstract Background Virtual reality (VR), augmented (AR) and mixed (MR) have sparked recently in improving the effectiveness of teacher education. However, there is a lack review regarding utilisation these technologies this field. These three technologies, namely VR, AR MR, can be collectively referred to as extended (XR) (as mentioned reference Tang et al., 2022). Objectives Remarkably, XR‐based education needs explored. Moreover, research questions related training objectives, methodological features, effects remain unanswered. Methods To end, present study conducted systematic analyse 52 articles from six databases (including Web Science, Scopus, IEEE Xplore, ERIC, ScienceDirect, ACM Digital Library). Results The results indicate that XR been primarily used train teachers' procedural knowledge, for instance, classroom management. Furthermore, most studies focused on pre‐service teachers (PSTs) rather than in‐service utilised small sample sizes, with VR emerging frequently employed tool. Finally, majority reported affected positively. Conclusions It urges researchers developers consider theory‐driven design, which increases potential better understand what features promote PSTs' learning how they do so. This article additionally conducts SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis offer more insightful recommendations foster further discussion.

Virtual Reality (VR) shows the potential to tackle limitations and deficiencies of traditional microteaching training by offering an intricate lifelike environment that helps pre-service teachers develop their teaching skills. However, effects VR on each skill sub-dimension remain inconclusive. This study identified nine sub-dimensions skills through a literature review. Moreover, VR-based system was developed, these were explored conducting comparative experiment between virtual training. The results showed considerably enhanced teachers' teacher efficacy compared training, especially instructional strategies classroom management. Furthermore, more significant improvements noted in questioning language posture after although there no difference overall. reported highly immersive experience during microteaching.

During the era of digital transformation, integration technology into field education through teaching methods has become a necessity. This study aims to measure effectiveness museum virtual tour media on increasing student involvement in social studies learning elementary schools. Research design uses quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-test control-group design. The research sample consisted 64 students fifth grade. dimensions indicators used questionnaire are sourced from Student Engagement School Questionnaire (SESQ). data this comes questionnaires, interviews, documentation. N-gain Score test was chosen analyse data, comparing average scores between experimental control groups. findings show that there is disparity engagement results who use traditional textbooks. class obtained an n-gain score 0.683 which indicated increase high category, while 0.193 low category. Thus, proven be able make significant contribution involvement, encouraging cultural appreciation, strengthening students' sense nationalism
