Observational studies have reported high comorbidity between obesity and severe COVID-19. The aim of this study is to explore whether genetic factors are involved in the co-occurrence two traits. Based on available genome-wide association (GWAS) summary statistics, we explored correlation performed cross-trait meta-analysis (CPASSOC) colocalization analysis (COLOC) detect pleiotropic single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). At level, obtained genes detected by Functional mapping annotation (FUMA) Multi-marker Analysis GenoMic Annotation (MAGMA). Potential functional were further investigated summary-data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR). Finally, casualty was identiied using latent causal variable model (LCV). A significant positive revealed We found 331 shared SNPs CPASSOC 13 risk loci COLOC. 3546 genes, among which 107 be significantly expressed SMR. Obesity is a major risk factor for morbidity and mortality because it has close relationship to metabolic illnesses, such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, some types of cancer. With no drugs available, the mainstay obesity management remains lifestyle changes with exercise dietary modifications. In light tremendous disease burden unmet therapeutics, fresh perspectives on pathophysiology drug discovery are needed. The development epigenetics provides compelling justification how environmental, lifestyle, other factors contribute pathogenesis obesity. Furthermore, epigenetic dysregulations can be restored, been reported that certain natural products obtained from plants, tea polyphenols, ellagic acid, urolithins, curcumin, genistein, isothiocyanates, citrus isoflavonoids, were shown inhibit weight gain. These substances have great antioxidant potential interest they also modify mechanisms. We investigated anti-obesity effect a 30% ethanol extract Eisenia bicyclis (Kjellman) Setchell (EEB) on 3T3-L1 preadipocytes high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese C57BL/6 mice. Adipogenesis transcription factors peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)γ, CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein-alpha (C/EBPα), sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1 (SREBP-1) were ameliorated through AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway by EEB in differentiated cells. attenuated mitotic clonal expansion upregulating cyclin-dependent inhibitors (CDKIs) while downregulating cyclins CDKs. We conducted retrospective cohort analyzing medical records hospitalized from March 2020 2021. Patients were classified into normal body weight, overweight, groups. Data statistically analyzed using Kruskal–Wallis’s test Dunn’s post-test (continuous variables) or chi-square (χ2) (categorical variables). Among 145 ward records, 24.1% 46.2% 29.7% obese. In intensive care unit, data 243 indicated that 17.3% 37.9% 44.9% obese, highlighting concerning overweight/obesity.
