Abstract The modern concept of DNA-based barcoding for cataloguing biodiversity was proposed in 2003 by first adopting an approximately 600 bp fragment the mitochondrial COI gene to compare via nucleotide alignments with known sequences from specimens previously identified taxonomists. Other standardized regions meeting criteria then are also evolving as DNA barcodes fast, reliable and inexpensive assessment species composition across all forms life, including animals, plants, fungi, bacteria other microorganisms. The appearance and quick spread of the new severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus disease, COVID-19, brought major societal challenges. Importantly, suitable medical diagnosis procedures smooth clinical management disease are an emergent need, which must be anchored on novel diagnostic methods devices. Novel molecular tools relying nucleic acid amplification testing have emerged globally current gold standard in COVID-19 diagnosis. However, need for widespread methodologies fast, effective multiple epidemiological scenarios remains a crucial step fight against pandemic. Biosensors previously shown potential cost-effective accessible diagnostics, finding applications settings where conventional, laboratorial techniques may not readily employed. Paper- cellulose-based biosensors can particularly relevant pandemic times, renewability, possibility mass production with sustainable methodologies, safe environmental disposal. In this review, paper-based devices platforms targeting SARS-CoV-2 showcased discussed, as means to achieve low-cost PoC diagnosis, including detection viral genomic material, antigen detection, serological antibody testing. Devices inflammatory markers also reliable bedside patient treatment follow-up.

With the outbreak of COVID-19, which is fast transmitting and highly contagious, development rapid, specific, sensitive detection kits has become a research hotspot. The existing assay methods for SARS-CoV-2 are mainly based on enzymatic reactions, require expensive reagents, hindering popular use, especially in resource-constrained areas. Herein, we propose an aptamer-based method via binding spike protein using functionalized biomimetic nanochannels. To get analogous effect human ACE2, receptor protein, aptamer to bind S1 been first screened by SELEX technique then immobilized previously prepared In presence SARS-CoV-2, changes steric hindrance charge density surface nanochannels will affect ion transport, along with rapid electrochemical response. Our successfully applied detect viral particles clinical pharyngeal swab specimens one step without sample treatment. We expect this reagent-free, be developed as useful tool diagnosing COVID-19.

Without a doubt, the current global pandemic affects all walks of our life. It affected almost every age group over world with disease named COVID-19, declared as by WHO in early 2020. Due to high transmission and moderate mortality rate this virus, it is also regarded panic-zone virus. This potentially deadly virus has pointed up significance COVID-19 research. rapid detection very crucial. Presently, there are different conventional techniques available for coronavirus like CT-scan, PCR, Sequencing, CRISPR, ELISA, LFA, LAMP. The urgent need rapid, accurate, cost-effective requirement cut off shortcomings traditional methods, make scientists realize advance new technologies. Biosensors one reliable platforms diagnosis. In article, we have recent diagnosis approaches COVID-19. review includes basic virology SARS-CoV-2 mainly clinical pathological features. We briefly discussed types biosensors, their working principles, advancement prevention.

At the end of 2019, coronavirus appeared and spread extremely rapidly, causing millions infections deaths worldwide, becoming a global pandemic. For this reason, it became urgent essential to find adequate tests for an accurate fast diagnosis disease. In present study, systematic review was performed in order provide overview COVID-19 methods already available, as well their evolution recent months. purpose, Science Direct, PubMed, Scopus databases were used collect data three authors independently screened references, extracted main information, assessed quality included studies. After analysis collected data, 34 studies reporting new diagnose selected. Although RT-PCR is gold-standard method diagnosis, cannot fulfill all requirements pandemic, being limited by need highly specialized equipment personnel perform assays, long time get test results. To limitations method, other alternatives, including biological imaging methods, also commonly reported. The comparison different allowed understand importance potential combining techniques, not only improve but further understanding virus, disease, implications humans.
