PLATZ transcription factors represent a novel class of zinc finger proteins unique to plants and play critical roles in plant growth stress responses. This study performs bioinformatic analysis on the factor family tomato. In tomato genome, 20 were identified, distributed across nine chromosomes, including two tandem duplication clusters segmental events. Phylogenetic classified members into five subgroups, with consistent gene structures motif distributions within same subfamily.
