Fungal secondary metabolites have been increasingly sought after as an alternative strategy to herbicides and a source of new medicines. Twenty spirobisnaphthalenes (SBNs) were isolated from the fermentation broth Edenia sp. YUD20003 herb Drymaria cordata (L.) Willd. in China, including eight SBNs (1–8) phenolic dinaphthoether (9). Their chemical structures absolute configurations elucidated on basis comprehensive spectroscopic analyses. The biosynthetic pathway these was proposed. insight into biological activity showed that not only demonstrated significant cytotoxicity against five human cancer cell lines but also exhibited potent antimicrobial activities both Candida albicans Staphylococcus aureus. Notably, 3, 5–7, 9 inhibitory effect acetylcholinesterase par with tacrine. Additionally, compound 7 effectively inhibited germination weed Setaria viridis, suggesting its potential herbicide. research highlights bioactive natural products agrochemical pharmaceutical applications.

The discovery of bioactive compounds from fungal natural sources holds immense potential for the development novel therapeutics. present study investigates extracts soil-borne Penicillium notatum and rhizosphere-inhabiting Aspergillus flavus their antibacterial, antifungal, cytotoxic potential. Additionally, two were purified using chromatographic spectroscopic techniques. results demonstrated that ethyl acetate fraction A. exhibited prominent activity against Artemia salina, whereas P. displayed promising antibacterial At dose concentrations 10, 100, 1000 µg mL−1, showed mortality percentages 7.6%, 66.4%, 90%, respectively. extract significant activity, forming inhibition zones measuring 41, 38, 34, 30 mm B. subtilis, S. flexneri, E. coli, K. pneumoniae, aureus, respectively, at mL−1. this concentration, 28, 27, 15 recorded vulgaris, typhi, X. oryzae. Using bioassay-guided approach, one compound each was extracts. initial purification involved mass analysis, followed by structural elucidation 500 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Compound 1, derived flavus, identified as 2-hydroxy-5,6-dimethyl-4-oxocyclohex-2-ene-1-carboxylate, with a 212, 2, isolated notatum, 3-amino-2-(cyclopenta-2,4-dien-1-ylamino)-8-methoxy-4H-chromen-4-one, an exact 270. Based on bioassay results, 1 subjected to brine shrimp lethality assay 2 tested its 30% larvae concentration 100 mL−1 increased 70%. notable potential, 30, 24, 19, 12 In comparison, standard antibiotic tetracycline produced 18, 15, 10 respective bacterial strains same concentration.

Hydrogen's high energy and water vapor combustion by products make it a vital role in the low-carbon economy. A novel hydrogen generation method uses lignocellulosic waste residual biomass from plant cell walls, such as agricultural wastes, forestry trash, energy-yielding crops. Lignocellulosic is abundant attractive renewable source, reducing trash disposal greenhouse gas emissions. Alternative technologies, especially those using resources, are needed to replace carbon emissions fossil fuels. Dark fermentation, which breaks down complex organic molecules with microbes, makes viable source. It effectively generates supports circular economy concepts turning into resource. Many thermochemical biological processes extract waste. Research improving these procedures for effectiveness economic viability. reduces provides sustainable energy. Using assets boosts biotechnology, process engineering, integrated systems predicted lower production costs, making this more realistic environment.
