To explore the effects of rice floating beds on fish growth and intestinal microbiota, present study compared performance microbial diversity, construction, composition water Gibel carp ( Carassius auratus gibelio ) intestine in ponds normal ponds. The results revealed that raised exhibited significantly greater body length, weight, weight gain rates than those Microbial community analysis showed enhanced richness diversity group. Furthermore, assembly processes these communities were predominantly influenced by stochastic mechanisms bacterial phyla associated with nutrient cycling, such as Cyanobacteria, Chloroflexi, Ignavibacteria, assembled Overall, highlight potential bed systems a sustainable aquaculture technique, fostering improved which are critical for health cultured fish.

Locally available feedstuffs, such as grain seed cakes, oilseeds, and vegetable waste, hold immense potential alternative feed sources in fish farming. However, these plant-based ingredients have low crude protein content lack essential fatty acids, which lowers palatability conversion efficiencies, leading to suboptimal growth. Traditional feedstuffs like fishmeal soybean meal face sustainability challenges local unavailability, the presence of anti-nutritional factors, energy-intensive processing. The rising costs commercial aqua-feeds scarcity necessitate exploring options. Aquatic plants Ipomoea aquatica, Lemna minor, Azolla pinnata, along with green blue-green microalgae Chlorella spp. Arthrospira (Spirulina), are promising alternatives due their high content, availability omega-3 acids EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), beneficial bioactive compounds. These microalgae, ranging from 25% 65%, can significantly enhance growth, health, product quality by partially or entirely replacing fishmeal. Their nitrogen-fixing abilities contribute levels. Additionally, organisms various biotechnological applications, including phytoremediation, Integrated Multi-trophic Aquaculture (IMTA), aquaponics, biofloc technology, constructed wetlands. Despite potential, scaling up integrating into existing systems remain. Collaborative efforts advocacy among farmer groups crucial for knowledge sharing fostering sustainable solutions. Long-term strategies should focus on upscaling production research development achieve self-sufficiency cost-effective natural
