Abstract
The
integration
of
generative
artificial
intelligence
tools
in
education
has
emerged
as
a
transformative
approach
to
enhancing
learning
outcomes,
particularly
the
context
sustainable
development
goals
(SDG4).
Therefore,
present
study
investigates
connection
between
tool
usage
(GenAITU)
and
academic
achievement
(AA)
SDG4.
We
assessed
mediating
role
shared
metacognition
(SMC)
cognitive
offloading
(COL)
this
relationship
among
preservice
teachers
(PSTs).
indicators,
including
performance
expectancy
(PE),
effort
(EE),
facilitating
conditions
(FC),
use
behavior
(UB),
are
derived
from
adapting
Unified
Theory
Acceptance
Use
Technology
2
(UTAUT2)
for
GenAITU.
authors
surveyed
465
students
five
universities
Wuhan,
China,
using
7-point
Likert
scale
through
time-lag
design.
Statistical
analysis
was
performed
partial
least
squares
structural
equation
modeling
(PLS-SEM),
determine
variables.
Findings
indicated
that
two
components
GenAITU,
namely
PE
UB,
showed
significant
positive
associations
with
AA,
while
other
two,
EE
FC,
did
not
show
relationships
AA.
Results
also
three
dimensions
EE,
UB
have
association
SMC
SMC.
All
four
GenAITU
like
PE,
links
COL.
COL
mediated
connections
(EE,
UB)
Outcomes
(PE,
current
shows
were
strong
mediators
