Although the pupal parasitoid Trichopria drosophilae is used in conservative and augmentative biocontrol of Drosophila suzukii infestations, current pest management strategies mostly rely on multiple insecticide applications. In this context, aim study was to investigate baseline toxicity nine insecticides D. larvae their sublethal effects (LC10 ) immature stages feeding contaminated diet T. developing within intoxicated host.Chlorpyriphos azadirachtin showed lowest highest LC10 , values which were 9.78 × 1013 1.46 103 times lower than recommended label field rate, respectively. Among tested insecticides, imidacloprid, malathion dimethoate only treatments that did not affect juvenile development time suzukii, while spinosad organophosphates chlorpyriphos influence fly size. No recorded degree infestation (DI) time. On contrary, cyazypyr negatively affected success parasitism (SP) number progeny parasitoid, association with for first parameter fertility. Compared untreated control, more female emerged following exposure, caused opposite effect. Imidacloprid, lambda-cyhalothrin spinetoram decreased hind tibia length parasitoids. This provides new insights (eco)toxicological profile information needed support deployment sustainable techniques against suzukii. © 2023 The Authors. Condica capensis (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), a newly identified pest in Yunnan Province, China, poses threat to safflower crops. Discovered Nanhua County November 2023, the damages at multiple life stages, especially during its larval stage, when it feeds on leaves, tender stems, and flower filaments, sometimes causing entire plant die. Morphological molecular analyses, including mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase I (COI) gene sequencing, confirmed identity as C. capensis, new species record for Yunnan. The study also documented pest’s cycle, reproductive behavior, natural enemies, highlighting potential biological control using parasitic wasps such Cotesia sp. This research emphasizes need accurate identification monitoring develop effective, sustainable management strategies. As cultivation grows Yunnan, managing is critical safeguarding local agriculture preventing broader agricultural threats.

With over 1000 species of pests causing losses in both the quantity and quality stored food, insect contamination poses significant challenges. The present study assesses efficacy combination λ-cyhalothrin chlorantraniliprole against four key storage pests-Trogoderma granarium, Sitophilus oryzae, Rhyzopertha dominica, Tribolium castaneum. Laboratory bioassays demonstrated species-dependent mortality, with S. oryzae R. dominica suffering 100% mortality several tested scenarios. A 90-day persistence trial revealed decreased time, especially for T. granarium (32.0-71.4% at 0 days 0.0-7.5% 90 days) castaneum (38.8-82.7% 0.0-12.7% vs. dominica. Progeny production was almost suppressed trials (0.4 individuals per vial 1 individual vial, respectively) after 30 dose 5 mg/kg wheat. results highlight variability insecticidal performance based on species, dose, exposure, commodity type, emphasizing need tailored pest management strategies environment.

Abstract BACKGROUND The endoparasitoid Cotesia marginiventris (Cresson) is a promising biological control agent of the fall armyworm (FAW) Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith). Because application insecticides one prime choices in pest management, we evaluated sublethal and transgenerational effects five key insecticides—chlorantraniliprole, emamectin benzoate, spinetoram, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), Mamestra brassicae nucleopolyhedrovirus (MbNPV)—on parasitoid. Results Exposure to at concentration causing 10% mortality (LC 10 ) caused hormetic parent generation (F 0 by increasing parasitism reducing immature duration. Interestingly, response was also observed offspring indirectly exposed insecticides. Furthermore, increased rate 6.32–14.73% F 1 generation, which similar that (3.96–11.81%) compared with control. No significant adverse effect on number emerged parasitoids 2 generations. However, had detrimental impact body size fecundity generations, showed small shorter hind tibiae reduction female ratio control; exception chlorantraniliprole significantly improved generation. Conclusions Five LC induced C. . Our results provide scientific basis for better understanding long‐term impacts doses parasitoids, facilitating development integrated management programs FAW © 2023 Society Chemical Industry.

Halyomorpha halys, (brown marmorated stink bug, BMSB), is a high-concern invasive species causing severe damage to orchards in many countries outside its native Asian range. Management methods other than frequent sprays of broad-spectrum insecticides are needed restore integrated pest management (IPM) practices orchards. Chitin synthesis inhibitors usually regarded as desirable options IPM programs because lower toxicity beneficial insects and non-target organisms compared neurotoxic insecticides. In this study, the activity three chitin (namely buprofezin, novaluron triflumuron) was investigated on BMSB egg masses, third instars adults by means laboratory bioassays.Novaluron lesser extent triflumuron were detrimental nymphs exposed residues potted peach plants. Novaluron caused high mortality among early that emerged from sprayed masses. No significant differences found between buprofezin water control eggs or instars. When adults, none affected survival, fecundity, hatching.Given nymphs, but lack effects might be considered for field applications only tool wider strategy along with aimed at preventing invasion crops adults. © 2023 Society Chemical Industry.

Halyomorpha halys, (the brown marmorated stink bug, BMSB), is a high-concern invasive species causing severe damage to orchards in many countries outside its native Asian range. Control options matching both effectiveness and sustainability are currently lacking. Inhibitors of chitin biosynthesis might be exploited for integrated management programs because the overall better ecotoxicological profile comparison with most neurotoxic insecticides used so far against BMSB. In this study, activity triflumuron, benzoylphenyl urea hampering biosynthesis, was tested on BMSB laboratory field conditions. bioassays, insecticide sprayed potted peach plants (30 cm high) residues were aged glasshouse 0, 7, 14, 21 d. Then, third-instar bugs placed continuously exposed residues. Mortality scored after d exposure. Triflumuron caused significantly higher mortality nymphs water controls at all aging periods. Moreover, up did not cause any significant reduction activity. Field experiments also carried out 2019 eight pear orchards. Injuries fruits harvest compared between plots where triflumuron added sprays control managed exactly same way but without treatment. An mean 9.99 ± 1.98% bug injured detected strategy including whereas 19.45 3.55% assigned controls.
