Abstract
True
mangroves
and
mangrove
associates
are
salt‐tolerant
trees
shrubs
that
serve
a
critical
role
in
preserving
the
ecological
balance
of
tropical
subtropical
estuarine
environments.
However,
they
not
immune
to
damage
caused
by
fungal
pathogens.
In
this
study,
leaves
exhibiting
leaf
spot
symptoms
were
gathered
from
estuary
forests
Prachuap
Khiri
Khan,
Thailand.
Through
morphological
multilocus
phylogenetic
analyses
(LSU,
ITS,
RPB2
TUB2
)
along
with
genealogical
concordance
species
recognition,
we
identified
Allophoma
acanthi
sp.
nov.
Acanthus
ilicifolius
.
Additionally,
A
minor
was
as
causative
agent
spots
true
associate
species,
namely,
,
Combretum
sp.,
Hibiscus
tiliaceus
Intsia
bijuga
Lumnitzera
racemosa
Sonneratia
alba
We
also
provide
evidence
support
synonymization
thunbergiae
All
eight
isolates
study
demonstrated
pathogenicity
their
original
hosts
varied
virulence,
confirming
Koch's
postulates.
Our
findings
contribute
understanding
pathogens
affecting
associates.
