The production of biofuels and biochar through pyrolysis is a promising avenue for sustainable energy generation waste management. However, this process can inadvertently release various air pollutants into the atmosphere, potentially compromising its environmental benefits. This article provides comprehensive overview gas associated with biofuel production, as well different variables affecting emissions. Key such particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx) have been discussed in terms their formations emissions during processes. Furthermore, major factors influencing pollutant emissions, including feedstock composition, conditions, combustion technologies examined up-to-date examples. review highlights significance emission control strategies, advanced reactor design, catalyst utilization, integration realtime monitoring systems, mitigating pollution from By shedding light on challenges pyrolysis-based aims to encourage development cleaner more approaches harness potential solid conversion technologies.

Organic amendments (animal manure and biochar) to agricultural soils may enhance soil organic carbon (SOC) contents, improve fertility crop productivity but also contribute global warming through nitrous oxide (N2O) emission. However, the effects of on N2O emissions from seem variable among numerous research studies remains uncertain. Here, eighty-five publications (peer-reviewed) were selected perform a meta-analysis study. The results this study show that application animal enhanced by 17.7%, whereas, biochar amendment significantly mitigated 19.7%. Moreover, coarse textured increased [lnRR‾ = 182.6%, 95% confidence interval (CI) 151.4%, 217.7%] emission after manure, in contrast, 7.0% amendment. In addition, found 121-320 kg N ha-1 ⩽ 30 T rates 72.3% 22.5%, respectively. Soil pH played vital role regulating amendments. Furthermore, > 10 C: ratios 121.4% 27.6% amendments, Overall, emissions, while, ratio had not shown any effect emissions. average factors (EFs) for 0.46% -0.08%, Thus, provide scientific evidence about how such as soils.

The cellulose-based hydrogel has been widely applied for soil water retention and nutrient release agents several decades. Embedding the inorganic materials into hydrogels is an excellent strategy to improve inherent limits of hydrogel. Notably, municipal sludge-derived hydrochar (HC) reduced environmental burden offered a potential carrier control water-retention nutrient-release. However, above function plant growth hydrochar-embedded carboxymethyl cellulose-g-poly(acrylic acid) (CMC-g-PAA/HC) unknown, relevant reports are lacking. This study investigated retention, behavior, effect germination CMC-g-PAA/HC Characterization results showed that HC was successfully incorporated with 6.0% higher thermostability, 7.2–21.0% lower swelling ratio (SR) in water, substantial SR phosphate solution (P-solution). loss rate P-solution or owned more significant temperature response (7.9–15.0 folds) than CMC-g-PAA (8.2–10.0 folds). Moreover, 4.0% n value 18.5% released P were also observed. These phenomena due restricting polymer chains movement molecules diffusion inside HC. Phytotoxicity assessments could effectively alleviate inhibition effects on rape retained 78.3% vigor 80.0% ratio, even dramatically improved 28 d. this demonstrated new route developing eco-friendly hydrogel, advantageous as agent arid semiarid regions.

Several studies have investigated nutrient-enriched and nutrient poor biochar to improve soil properties, increase use efficiency crop productivity. Review articles presented formulations production methods of biochar-based fertilizers. They reported improves -45ves productivity, health preserves the environment. But so far, none has conceptualized as a smart fertilizer or conceptual intellectual structures collaborative networks authors countries working on For first time, this study mapped scientific knowledge generated topic established solid ground for its innovative progress research pursuits. A total 2,779 publications fertilizers were exported from scopus database in August 2022 analyzed using bibliometrix software package biblioshiny web interface R version 4.1.3. The results indicated that papers our collection cover period 2007 with raising number 2017 2021. Almost all documents (99.38%) co-authored an average 6 (5.76) per article. analysis keywords evolution topics revealed relation organic sources, microbiology sanitation most studied debates. China had more collaboration network fertilizers, while West African belonging not developed any far. This suggests formulation projects may involve work other including China, USA, Germany, Australia Poland. is comprehensive terms global view contours actors Future should be conducted fields under farmers’ conditions focus (i) enrichment nutrients sources before application soil, (ii) remediation applications, (iii) economic profitability small-scale farmers.
