The sodium-nitrogen-sulfur co-doped carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were synthesized via a one-step hydrothermal method, which exhibited remarkably high fluorescence yield (24.58%) and exceptional optical properties. "on-off-on" sensor was constructed. of CQDs rapidly quenched with Fe(III) the recovered by ascorbic acid (Asc) partially arginine (Arg)/histidine (His) completely. demonstrated rapid response, sensitivity, excellent stability, remarkable selectivity, robust anti-interference performance, feasible to simultaneously determine concentrations multipile analytes in sample satisfactory recovery rates. mechanism investigated, revealing significant potential nano-functionalized materials field drug detection through sensing.

The recently successful large-area bottom-up synthesis of a two-dimensional honeycomb layer silicon carbide (SiC) (Phys. Rev. Lett. 2023, 130, 076203) has unquestionably outstretched the conventional routes to tackle intriguing underlying physics graphene-like monolayers with diverse functional sectors. In this work, we have tailored group-IV such as SiC, germanium (GeC), and their single-layer heterojunction (J. Appl. Phys. 2022, 132, 184301) six stable quantum dots (QDs) critically explored electronic nature, magnetic edges, transitions subsequent characterization circular dichroism (CD) high sensitivity toward environmentally hazardous gases through first principles. Quantum zigzag edges reveal spin-split nature traces fluorescence around short-wave infrared (SWIR) region. Interestingly, polar QDs SiC–GeC, however, display chiral an asymmetric point group, which been using vibrational dichroism. presence junctions between two different carbides promptly enhances gas 70%, is significantly higher than its constituents, providing alternate route map in extending boundaries environment-friendly application sector.

The discovery of chiral carbon dots (Ch-CDs) has opened up an exciting new research direction in the field dots. It not only retains chirality precursor and exhibits highly symmetric optical properties but also such as chemical stability, antibacterial antitumor properties, good biocompatibility Based on these advantages, application Ch-CDs biomedical attracted significant interest among researchers. However, a comprehensive review selection precursors for Ch-CDs, preparation methods, applications fields is still lacking. Here, we summarize their methods based recent reports provide first specific engineering, biosensing, bioimaging, drug carriers, antibiofilm, enzyme activity modulation. Finally, discuss prospects challenges that need to be overcome. We hope this will valuable guidance researchers prepare novel facilitate engineering.
