Nanoplastics (NPs) can come into contact with humans through different means such as ingesting contaminated food or exposure to air. Recent research indicates that these NPs act vectors for other contaminants. Further is still needed determine the effects of interactions and whether they are significant under environmental conditions. Bisphenol A (BPA) benzophenone (BZP) possible contaminants could be cotransported NPs. Even in low concentrations, BPA BZP endocrine disruptors have been linked several diseases. In this study, we used molecular dynamics simulations obtain potential mean force (PMF) profile between a polyethylene NP BPA/BZP molecule. The PMF shows minimum −8.0 kJ mol–1 BPA, whereas it −23.5 BZP, meaning has much greater attractive than BPA. We infer higher quantity BPA's hydrogen bonds water contributes difference results indicate need address possibility playing role cotransport bioaccumulation aquatic ecosystems.
