Abstract Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used to detect heavy metals in 74 typical and representative commercial organic fertilizers (COFs) collected major COF production areas China. The potential risk of fertilization into soils evaluated. concentrations (mg kg− 1) these COFs were 1.55–36.95 (As), 0.04–2.32 (Hg), 1.43–78.05 (Pb), 0.15–7.49 (Cd), 11.03–212.90 (Cr), 7.74-555.11 (Cu), 21.46-2705.68 (Zn), 5.62-244.47 (Ni), respectively. Based on China’s Organic Fertilizer Standard (2021), with excessive accounted for 45.95% 1.35% 2.70% 8.11% 6.76% (Cr). According the European Union standard (2019), rate 32.43% Cu, 75.68% Zn, 85.14% Ni. Estimated by applying 3854 kg hectare− 1 (dry bass) fertilizer per hectare year, guarantee safe use fertilizer, monitoring Cd soil should be emphasized. China formulate appropriate standards limits Ni as soon possible pay great attention metal pollution soils.

Agricultural soils have been identified as potential reservoirs for plastic pollution, with adverse effects on soil properties. Primary sources of input in agricultural landscapes are associated the application sewage sludge or compost. Understanding and anticipated content is crucial mitigating pollution fields. This study presents one first investigations into other impurities, e.g. glass, seven organic fertilizers (biowaste compost, digested pig slurry, dry chicken manure, green waste sludge, a mixed digestate comprising 74 % renewable raw materials). Potentially visible foreign substances were assessed surface each fertilizer pile. No impurities could be detected digestate. For remaining fertilizers, collected, cleaned, visually described, weighed, photographed, size measured, chemically characterized using ATR-FTIR. The quantification revealed that particles most abundant contained all contrast to glass metal. An increasing trend particle number per m

The implementation of conservation tillage is crucial for the preservation and utilization black soil. This study examined 297 new agricultural management entities in five pilot counties soil region northeast China. Using SBM-Undesirable model, this measured evaluated green total factor productivity (AGTFP) these entities. We further employed Tobit model to explore impact on AGTFP. findings revealed that average AGTFP value sample was 0.4364, indicating a generally low degree exhibited significant variation. Improvement input indicators (such as machinery) undesirable output net carbon emissions) particularly needed. Additionally, had positive AGTFP, with higher number applied technologies correlating increased productivity. Material subsidies offered greater direct cost relief stronger effect comparison cash subsidies. Furthermore, apart from policy factors, key production operation characteristics—such access materials—also significantly influenced results offer valuable decision-making framework scientific reference countries regions worldwide, enabling them enhance sustainable vital resource.
