Abstract Agri-food residues offer significant potential as a raw material for the production of L -lactic acid through microbial fermentation. Weizmannia coagulans , previously known Bacillus is spore-forming, lactic acid-producing, gram-positive, with probiotic and prebiotic properties. This study aimed to evaluate feasibility utilizing untreated citrus waste sustainable feedstock in one-step process, by using strain W. MA-13. By employing thermophilic enzymatic cocktail (Cellic CTec2) conjunction hydrolytic capabilities MA-13, biomass degradation was enhanced up 62%. Moreover, batch fed-batch fermentation experiments demonstrated complete glucose into acid, achieving concentration 44.8 g/L. These results point MA-13 cell factory combining cost-effective saccharification fermentative performance, on agri-food wastes. this approach valorization agricultural streams successfully proven. Key points • Valorization waste, an abundant residue Mediterranean countries. Sustainable L-( +)-lactic process. Enzymatic pretreatment valuable alternative use chemical. Graphical

Abstract The recent advancement of digitalization and information communication technology (ICT) has not only shifted the manufacturing paradigm towards Fourth Industrial Revolution, namely Industry 4.0, but also provided opportunities for a smart logistics transformation. Despite studies have focused on improving smartness, connectivity, autonomy isolated operations with primary focus forward channels, there is still lack systematic conceptualization to guide coming shift reverse logistics, instance, how “individualization” “service innovation” should be interpreted in context? To fill this gap, Reverse 4.0 defined, from holistic perspective, paper offer analysis technological impact logistics. Based reported research case literature, conceptual framework transformation proposed link enablers, service operation transformation, targeted sustainability goals. A architecture given allow high level system integration enabled by intelligent devices portals, autonomous robots, advanced analytical tools, where value innovations can exploited solve various problems. Thus, contribution lies, through development, presenting clear roadmap agenda 4.0.

In recent times, the searches for alternative materials to plastic is a popular topic, due danger that synthetic cause environment and humans. Among promising natural polymers, chitosan (CS) certainly one of most suitable since it edible, non-toxic derives from crustacean waste.- However, necessary improve its physical properties be widely applied in food packaging, whose market dominated by plastic. this work we have synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using hot-plate microwaves-based techniques, Aloe Vera leaves extracts. The process follows principles green chemistry, no toxic substance used obtain nanomaterials. These NPs, having dimensions <20 nm, were characterized TEM, zeta potential, UV–vis, FTIR, then added CS low medium molecular weight develop thin films after polymerization. evaluated terms swelling ratio, optical properties, thermal stability, wettability, roughness, friction coefficient, understanding improved intercalation AgNPs, albeit differences observed two NPs type. Subsequently, release ions different pH as well vitro toxicity tests carried out evaluate their applicability. Largely, excellent new composite make them packaging kinds foods.
