Abstract Inquiry can be an effective educational strategy for building critical thinking and student agency, but it is also a catalyst scientific research. This study built upon foundation of inquiry as 25 adolescents participated in nine‐week guided curriculum focused on smartphones digital responsibility. As participants developed personally meaningful inquiries designed investigations into smartphone usage, they became co‐researchers who conducted their own research studies at large museum. The examines to what extent show changes (1) sense well‐being; (2) awareness personal usage. Pre‐ post‐intervention data compared participants' usage investigated well‐being. Results showed significant increases positive affect awareness, with decreases negative affect. provides important insights teachers researchers by highlighting the impacts two‐way dialogue between education.
