Commercial helium (He)-rich gas fields have been discovered serendipitously as a by-product of petroleum exploration. As such, the sources and reasons for accumulation He are unclear. In this study, suite geochemical diagrams is established to distinguish three He, i.e., mantle, basement, or sedimentary rocks. The crust-derived which sourced from either basement rocks, differentiated in view diagram He/N2 ratio versus concentrations. Based on geological characteristics He-rich typical natural fields, models petroliferous basins proposed, including gases rich magmatic constrained by deep faults, crustal radiogenic stable cratonic basins, with self-generating self-preserving He. reserves main China evaluated at up approximately 4.792 × 109 m3.

The Late Triassic Carnian Pluvial Episode (CPE) witnessed enormous climate change closely associated with volcanic activity. However, the coupling relationship between activity and change, which may be linked to chemical weathering, has not yet been fully uncovered. We used lithium contents isotopes of ash (VA)–bearing lacustrine shale constrain their deposition pathways response changes, i.e., weathering intensity, during era. Elevated δ 7 Li (i.e., >2.5‰) low <65 microgram per gram) in likely document direct depositing from airborne VA, mainly inherited Earth’s interior signal. By contrast, yields markedly high >135 gram), alongside relatively <0‰), implying waterborne VA dominated by intensified under a super humidity climate. Hence, this study provides evidence for differential VA-rich model related states synchronous changes CPE period.
