Abstract Despite mixed results in the past, multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSPs) are considered important governance instruments for achieving Sustainable Development Goals. This perspective discusses ‘next generation’ of MSPs, comparing them to previous generations, and whether they can contribute transformative change.
