Global evidence on the association between vaccines and renal adverse events (AEs) is inconclusive. This pharmacovigilance study analyzed a total of 120,715,116 reports from VigiBase collected 1967 2022. We evaluated global reporting acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis (GN), tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) assessed disproportionate signals AEs using odds ratios (ROR) lower limit 95% confidence interval information component (IC025) in comparison with entire database. The number proportion AKI, GN, TIN gradually increased, substantial increase after 2020. Disproportionate AKI was significant for COVID-19 mRNA (ROR, 2.38; IC025, 1.09). Fourteen were significantly higher GN reporting, highest disproportionality observed 13.41; 2.90) hepatitis B 11.35; 3.18). 2.43; 0.99) human papillomavirus 1.75; 0.19) vaccines. An increase in post-COVID patients with late sequelae of acute COVID-19 infection is emerging as an ongoing challenge for physicians and healthcare professionals. Since the beginning pandemic, it has rapidly become evident that not limited to respiratory tract but several organs, including cardiovascular system, can be affected. Moreover, a significant proportion (ranging from about 10 up 50%) former COVID-19, cardiopulmonary symptoms such dyspnea, palpitations, restricted physical capacity, cardiac arrhythmias persist weeks months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. The spectrum COVID-19-associated rather wide, most likely due various pathomechanisms. In this article, prevalence underlying pathologies are reviewed, direct myocardial injury abnormal consequences impact on electric instability. hyperinflammatory reaction host immune system specifically considered. distinct rhythm disorders occurring discussed regard their clinical management.

We conducted a national in-depth analysis including pharmacovigilance reports and clinical study to assess the reporting rate (RR) determine profile of polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) giant cell arteritis (GCA) in COVID-19-vaccinated individuals. First, based on French database, we estimated RR PMR GCA cases individuals aged over 50 who developed their initial symptoms within one month receiving BNT162b2 mRNA, mRNA-1273, ChAdOx1 nCoV-19, Ad26.COV2.S vaccines. then nationwide survey gather profiles, therapeutic management, follow-up data from registered study. A total 70 854 684 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered 25 260 485 adults, among which, 179 (RR 7. 1 cases/1 000 persons) 54 2. have been reported. The allowed characterization 60 35 cases. Median time onset first was 10 (range 2–30) 7 2–25) days for GCA, respectively. Phenotype, GCA-related ischemic complications -large vessel vasculitis as well management seemed similar according number shots received when compared literature unvaccinated population. Although rare, short between immunization suggests temporal association. Physician should be aware this potential vaccine-related phenomenon.

Abstract Type I interferons act as gatekeepers against viral infection, and autoantibodies that neutralize these signaling molecules have been associated with COVID-19 severity adverse reactions to the live-attenuated yellow fever vaccine. On this background, we sought examine whether type were events following vaccination. Our nationwide analysis suggests interferon not after mRNA or viral-vector vaccines.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted several cardiovascular complications, including myocarditis, which can be a significant cause of sudden cardiac death in young people. SARS-CoV-2 infection muscle inflammation through direct mechanisms, such as viral invasion myocardial cells, and indirect the systemic inflammatory response. Myocarditis lead to life-threatening electrical dysfunctions arrhythmias. Although post-infection myocarditis is more common, rare cases post-vaccination have also been reported, especially with mRNA vaccines. However, these tend mild self-limiting, good response treatment. Despite associated risks, benefits vaccination far outweigh significantly reducing incidence severity infections related heart complications. It crucial continue surveillance research better understand association between COVID-19, improve prevention intervention strategies. In this literature review, we analyzed pathogenetic mechanisms histological features its vaccination, focused on correlation death.
