In this review, the importance of a robust frame work for drinking water quality monitoring, assessment and management has been discussed. This review presents global overview quality, illuminating challenges supply system from catchment to consumers briefly discussing appropriate regulatory frameworks risk analysis tools. It also meticulous summaries reports released by government non-governmental organizations with special emphasis on health-based targets, proposed strategies related preventive (through safety planning), environmental impact (EIA), independent surveillance in Pakistan. paper reviews various studies published national international journals reports, organizations, provide summary current knowledge regards contemporary that is still developing country. Role agencies their policies monitoring one most important categories covered review. The reviewed publications strong support claims impacts unsafe health economy country are very dangerous. Improved access safe development-oriented strategy can have tangible improvements socioeconomic status

Water quality has been a major problem in Pakistan owing to mix of factors such as population expansion, industrial units urban areas, and agricultural activities. The purpose this research is conduct comprehensive evaluation water monitoring assessment Pakistan. article begins by examining the sources (i.e., surface water, groundwater, rainwater). paper then discusses methods used researchers for assessment, including chemical, physical, biological methods. It determined that certain regions Pakistan, concentration arsenic present groundwater exceeds national international prescribed maximum limits. range concentrations Punjab province can vary from 10 200 μg/L, while higher up 1400 μg/L have recorded Sindh. In province, fluoride 0.5 30 mg/L, Sindh, levels reach 18 mg/L. addition, some talked about bacteria. A 2017 study found fecal coliform different cities surpassed limits were high 1100 CFU/100 mL. Additionally, natural geological formations salinity areas contribute contamination water. effect pollution on public health potential cause harm. critical investigate creative strategies improving quality, it necessary make investments development, which could include implementation sophisticated technologies conception new treatment processes. review performed facilitates an understanding current types magnitudes contaminants sources. Subsequently, emphasizes deficiencies challenges existing frameworks provides suggestions them. This also significant benefit all stakeholders involved ensuring clean safe human consumption other purposes policymakers, managers, researchers, stakeholders.

In this study, the hydrochemical characteristics of groundwater were assessed based on 64 shallow samples collected in Guanzhong Basin, China, and health risk nitrate (NO3-) drinking water was assessed. addition, spatial distributions major quality indicators investigated, while bivariate plots, saturation index, stable isotopes used to reveal processes controlling hydrogeochemistry. The results showed that study area mostly fresh water. The present study was conducted to evaluate the quality of drinking water and assess potential health hazards due contaminants in selected urban areas Lahore, Pakistan. Water samples were collected from ten sites analyzed for different physico-chemical parameters including turbidity, color, pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), nitrates, fluoride, residual chlorine, hardness. Additionally, heavy metal (arsenic) microbial (E. coli) also determined samples. Drinking evaluation indices, index (WQI) biological human risk assessment (HHRA) estimated using analytical results target parameters. It found most that levels arsenic, TDS, chlorine higher than those recommended by National Environmental Quality Standard (NEQS) World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. In addition parameters, content areas. Statistical analysis indicated are significantly between sampling sites. WQI all unfit unsuitable (WQI > 100) purposes except Bhatti Gate Chota Gaon Shahdara with a 87 91, respectively. these had very poor rating. According HHRA, be high children adults. carcinogenic arsenic both adults (4.60 4.37 × 10-3, respectively). Regular monitoring is essential, proactive measures must implemented ensure treatment availability safe
