Studies investigating the association between type 2 diabetes mellitus and central adiposity are lacking. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate trends in stratified by using waist-to-height ratio (WHtR). Trends were examined adiposity, WHtR, with data from Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2005-2022). Individuals aged 30 years over who participated survey selected. Type was identified based on serum glucose or HbA1c levels, use of medications, a prior diagnosis physician. Weighted β-coefficients odd ratios (ORs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) calculated assess changes disease prevalence. A total 79,368 participants included database (female: 45,163 [56.9%]). 2005 2022, prevalence increased 3.3 5.8% healthy group, 11.2 17.1% 18.0 26.7% high group. Males, older population, lower education level, household income, smoking associated higher risk diabetes. In overweight obese individuals had susceptibility than underweight normal-weight individuals, ORs 5.85 (95% CI, 2.54-13.47) 8.24 (3.79-17.94), respectively. The has all groups past decade. This underscores need for tailored interventions address disparities improve management at-risk populations.

The increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity has become a significant global burden, with more than 40% the adult population attempting to lose weight. Previous studies on impact weight-control methods mental health, especially among adolescents, are limited. Thus, this study aimed investigate association between various depression goal informing healthier weight management decisions promoting effective methods. This nationwide utilized data from Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey, including sample 418,254 adolescents collected over 12 yrs (2007-2019). We conducted weighted complex analysis compare rates associated specific methods, exercise, fasting (≥ 24 h), eating less, taking prescription/non-prescription weight-loss medication, laxatives or diuretics, vomiting, one-food diet, oriental medicine, diet foods. Of participants, 45.96% (192,246) were male. Among male h; odds ratio [wOR], 1.43; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.36-1.51) vomiting (wOR, 1.49; CI, 1.35-1.66) an increased risk depression. female prescribed 0.82; 0.74-0.90) non-prescribed 0.89; 0.82-0.97) medication reduced However, wOR, 1.47; 1.41-1.52) 1.45; 1.36-1.55) significantly varies depending method, consistent trend observed across both sexes. Methods such as fasting, medicine for loss, consuming foods depression, while medications symptoms in females. These findings highlight need further research policies that support reducing depressive effects.

Despite the significant impact of COVID-19 pandemic on various factors related to adolescent mental health problems such as stress, sadness, suicidal ideation, and suicide attempts, research this topic has been insufficient date. This study is based Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey from 2006 2022. We analyzed adolescents questionnaires with medical interviews, within five income groups compared them several risk factors. A total 1,138,804 participants were included in study, a mean age (SD) 15.01 (0.75) years. Of these, 587,256 male (51.57%). In 2022, recent period weighted prevalence stress highest group was 40.07% (95% CI, 38.67-41.48), sadness 28.15% (26.82-29.48), ideation 13.92% (12.87-14.97), attempts 3.42% (2.90-3.93) while lowest 62.77% (59.42-66.13), 46.83% (43.32-50.34), 31.70% (28.44-34.96), 10.45% (8.46-12.45). Lower showed higher proportion Overall had decreased until onset pandemic. However, increase found during Our an association between household level illness adolescents. Furthermore, exacerbated among low level, underscoring necessity for heightened public attention measures targeted at demographic.

The gut-brain axis, which acts as a two-way communication system between gastrointestinal tract central nervous system, plays pivotal role pathogenesis these conditions. Evidence suggests that metabolic byproducts, such short-chain fatty acids, lipopolysaccharide bile are generated gut microbiota, along with neurotransmitters inflammatory mediators within modulate host's processes, neuronal regulation, immune responses through diverse mechanisms. interaction depression via axis involves disruptions microbiota balance, responses, alterations neuroendocrine system.
