Resin outpourings on conifers are a quite unique habitat occurring in nature. Conifer resins composed mainly from monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and resin acids which recalcitrant to microbial decomposition. Moreover, exhibit antimicrobial properties. Despite that, they colonised by different microorganisms including fungi. They called resinicolous constitute poorly explored group of the fungal kingdom. In this study, during investigation fungi Poland, seven strains were assigned family Nectriaceae. Phylogenetic analyses combined ITS, LSU, rpb2, tef1 tub2 sequence data used for molecular identification. As result, two new species (including genus) known identified. Pulchrosporaresinae gen. et sp. nov. Cosmosporaelegans described, characterised proposed herein. Known such as Cosmosporaviridescens Cosmosporellapruni isolated substrate first time.

Abstract Sporocarps (fruit bodies) are the sexual reproductive stage in life cycle of many fungi. In this study, we revealed diversity, taxonomic composition host preference fungicolous fungi (i.e., that feed on other fungi) sporocarps. Natural products derived from microbes are crucial innovations that would help in reaching sustainability development goals worldwide while achieving bioeconomic growth. Trichoderma species well-studied model fungal organisms used for their biocontrol properties with great potential to alleviate the use of agrochemicals agriculture. However, identifying and characterizing effective natural novel or strains as biological control remains a meticulous process many known challenges be navigated. Integration recent advancements various “omics” technologies, next generation biodesign, machine learning, artificial intelligence approaches could greatly advance bioprospecting goals. Herein, we propose roadmap assessing impact already newly discovered applications. By screening publicly available genome sequences, first highlight prevalence putative biosynthetic gene clusters antimicrobial peptides among genomes an initial step toward predicting which increase diversity products. Next, discuss high-throughput methods discover characterize how these findings both fundamental applied research fields.

Pestalotiopsis sensu lato , commonly referred to as pestalotiopsis-like fungi, exhibit a broad distribution and are frequently found endophytes, saprobes pathogens across various plant hosts. The taxa within fungi classified into three genera viz. Pseudopestalotiopsis Neopestalotiopsis based on the conidial colour of their median cells multi-locus molecular phylogenies. In course biodiversity investigation focusing total 12 fungal strains were identified. These be associated with stromata Beauveria Ophiocordyceps Tolypocladium in regions Taiwan from 2018 2021. evaluated morphologically phylogenetic analyses ITS (internal transcribed spacer), tef1-α (translation elongation factor 1-α) tub2 (beta-tubulin) gene conducted for genotyping. results revealed seven well-classified one tentative clade . One novel species, manyueyuanani four new records, N. camelliae-oleiferae haikouensis P. chamaeropis hispanica reported first time Taiwan. addition, formosana an unclassified strain identified, similarities phylogeny morphology. However, data obtained present study suggest that currently recommended loci species delimitation do not deliver reliable or adequate resolution tree topologies. in-vitro mycelial growth rates selected these had optimum temperature 25 °C, but ceased at 5 °C 35 while all grew faster under alkaline than acidic neutral pH conditions. This provides assessment entomopathogenic taxa.
