Abstract Diaporthe is an important plant pathogenic genus, which also occurs as endophytes and saprobes. Many species that are morphologically similar proved to be genetically distinct. The current understanding of taxonomy by applying morphological characters, host associations multi-gene phylogeny problematic leading overestimation/underestimation numbers this significant fungal genus. Currently, there no definite boundaries for the accepted species. Hence, present study aims re-structure genus , based on single gene phylogenies (ITS, tef tub cal his ), justified GCPSR (Genealogical Concordance Phylogenetic Species Recognition) methodology well coalescence-based models (PTP—Poisson Tree Processes mPTP—multi-rate Poisson Processes). Considering all available type isolates divided into seven sections while 13 15 species-complexes proposed. To support re-assessment 82 obtained from woody hosts in Guizhou Province China were investigated revealed presence two novel 17 previously known Synonymies specified 31 molecular data studies. Dividing several specific phylogenetic analyses can avoid construction lengthy trees entire future taxonomic In other words, when one conducts research related only appropriate section need selected analysis.

Patellaria species are widely distributed in terrestrial and marine habitats saprobes growing on decaying wood, stems, or bark. However, studies this genus Mexico limited, only the type atrata Fr. has been cited. This study describes twelve new supported by molecular (ITS-LSU-SSU) morphological data. Phylogenetic analysis shows that of not closely related to atrata. Moreover, results demonstrate greatest diversity is found dry climates, particularly xerophilous scrub.

Fungal specimens collected from dead wood were identified based on morphological characteristics and multi-gene phylogenetic analyses of ITS, SSU, LSU, β-tubulin, ef1-α, rpb2 sequence data. Three novel species, Neoroussoellaguizhouensis, Roussoellaguizhouensis, Xenodidymellaguizhouensis, introduced, along with one new geographical record, Xenoroussoellatriseptata. Myochromella mammosa, a novel species from southwestern China, is distinguished by its small, solitary or gregarious basidiomata. The pileus clock-shaped, with distinct central mastoids, edge stripes, and darker center that flattens upon maturation. stipe white, firm when young, becomes hollow slightly thickened at the base age. We conducted comprehensive analysis of publicly available ITS sequences NCBI-GenBank fungal amplicon sequencing data NCBI-SRA to explore global distribution enumeration recorded Myochromella. At 98% sequence similarity threshold, eleven were identified, including eight without formal designations. Myochromella's diversity primarily Northern Hemisphere-centric tends toward endemic distribution. Leveraging sets enables precise assessments, enhancing field collection efficiency providing insights into macrofungal diversity.
