Drawing on the control-value theory, this cross-cultural research inspected association between positive activating emotions, namely pride, hope, and enjoyment, academic engagement among Chinese Iranian EFL students. This study also looked into role of these emotions in predicting students' engagement. Using a maximum variation sampling technique, 346 353 students were chosen from various colleges universities. Afterward, an online survey was sent to participants via email common messaging apps. Following that, structural equation modelling confirmatory factor analysis conducted through AMOS software analyse participants' answers. The results obtained CFA SEM indicated that is closely related their feelings enjoyment. demonstrated enjoyment can meaningfully favourably predict Interestingly, no significant difference discovered measurement models. These outcomes add existing body literature interplay behaviours.

ABSTRACT As artificial intelligence (AI) has been integrated into foreign language (FL) education, learners' well‐being is influenced by various factors, including technological, personal and contextual elements. However, few studies explored how external internal factors jointly shape FL in the era of generative AI. To fill this gap, study explores effects AI acceptance, perceived teachers' enthusiasm self‐efficacy on investigating 613 university learners English as a (EFL). The structural equation modelling results reveal that (1) acceptance positively predicts EFL self‐efficacy; (2) does not predict (3) for receptive skills mediates relationship between acceptance/perceived well‐being, whereas productive play mediation role. This research broadens understanding antecedents extends application theory AI‐driven educational environment, providing significant pedagogical implications.

Abstract Engagement plays an important role in students’ success learning. While learner engagement has been widely examined, the degree to which learners engage online learning and relationship between outcomes, particularly domain of second/foreign (L2) language learning, still remain under-explored. To bridge gap, this study examined college L2 English learners’ profiles their outcomes. A total 85 first-year students participated study. The results showed that is multidimensional, including behaviroral, cognitive, affective, social facets. Additionally, actual behavioral (e.g., task time completion rate) self-perceived behavioral, affective engagement) are significantly correlated. Nonetheless, among two levels measures, only score behavioural a positive predictor concludes with practical implications for teaching.

This research delves into the dynamics of growth mindset, ideal L2 self, grit, and student engagement using well-established data collection instruments in context English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. A sample comprising 379 participants drawn from diverse language institutes Iran, provided empirical for this study. Employing structural equation modeling validated scales each construct, study unveils partially mediated model, illuminating intricate relationships among variables under investigation. The findings reveal that both self mindset exert significant influence on engagement, with grit serving crucial partial mediator these associations. Moreover, demonstrates notable indirect effect primarily by grit. not only advances our understanding motivational drivers EFL learning but also yields practical insights educators curriculum designers seeking to bolster perseverance environments.
