Eco-efficiency is crucial for the European rubber and plastics industry to minimize production costs through effective resource management (e.g., energy management) reduce environmental impacts like greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions. Circular economy (CE) solutions can support industry’s competitiveness while aligning with sustainability goals regulatory requirements. In present research, we employ a hybrid window data envelopment analysis (WDEA) methodology measure panel eco-efficiency via application of moving average principle. The examination 27 countries as decision-making units (DMUs), in period 2014–2022, led conclusion that 70.33%, showing most DMUs ameliorate their performance regarding pollution control. highest 2014 be monitored Ireland, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, but 2022, only Ireland Switzerland kept positions, whereas Norway dropped 16th position Poland plummeted 24th hierarchical position. Geographical disparities spotted, Northern Western Europe have greater than Eastern Southern Europe. At second level analysis, convergence between under consideration examined using log t regression test club clustering. leads three final clubs where conditional dominates.

Effective waste management is crucial in addressing global environmental challenges. This study focuses on optimizing biogas production through anaerobic digestion of poultry manure, which a significant agricultural Côte d’Ivoire. The aim to identify the optimal manure-to-water ratio maximize output using FONSTI-CRDI digester with capacity 20 m³. was conducted at Brin Foundation farm Three ratios (1:3, 1:2, and 1:1) were tested over 15-day cycles. A range laboratory field equipment, including pH meters analyzers, employed monitor conditions measure production. Physicochemical properties such as pH, total solids, carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, also analyzed understand their impact yield. 1:3 yielded an average 4.1 m³/day, methane content 43%. 1:2 showed improvement, achieving 5.3 m³/day 51% methane. 1:1 produced highest 6.23 58% However, operational challenges like blockages observed ratio. digestate quality improved lower water content, emitting less odor. determined be most effective for sustained production, balancing high stability. configuration supports renewable energy goals sustainable practices, offering efficient solution managing manure. Further research co-substrates could enhance yields optimize methanization process.

Municipalities require eco-efficiency in managing solid waste to enhance sustainability and achieve a circular economy. Despite the relevance of statistics, there is high data uncertainty, which limits attempts benchmark this sector. To overcome limitation, envelopment analysis tolerance method was used evaluate management for sample municipalities Chile. For each municipality, composite indicator embracing operational cost, recycled rates, non-valorized rate estimated. Data uncertainty integrated assessment by simulating 729 scenarios municipality. Average 0.180, demonstrating extremely poor performance sustainable management. However, scores varied across municipalities, indicating differences local capacity develop implement strategies promoting Large potential improve estimated study clearly shows that current policies are not suitable achieving economy objectives Chile, thus alternative approaches should be adopted
