Based on the hypothesis that independent Mexican digital media outlets are more connected to their audiences than traditional newspapers, primary objective of this study is examine interactivity proposed and provided users by these online outlets. As secondary objectives, we seek identify trends in interface design selected Lastly, research aims compare levels interaction present sample. To accomplish this, analyzed 137 newspapers from Sembramedia database (2023), applying an model according Rodríguez et al. (2012) model, with a previous adaptation done authors validated through Kuder-Richardson coefficient (KR20). The main findings reveal that, while there high terms information accessibility presence Web 2.0 platforms, remains limited when it comes user-generated content reproduction, personalization, utilization tools. Consequently, concludes still hesitate relinquish greater control users. However, business continues prioritize audience loyalty, increasingly relying subscriptions and, lesser extent, government advertising. Furthermore, suggest three crucial factors influencing evolution interactivity. Firstly, improving transparency media-user communication facilitating user publication. Secondly, simplifying access using intuitive tools may enhance experience, although could lead potential reduction multimedia content. restricting connections platforms suggests centralizing web traffic within outlet, departing external monopolize advertising investment.
