Mental load and fatigue are important causes of performance decreases accidents in different activities. However, a robust systematic review, detailing the instruments used to quantify them, is currently lacking. The purpose this study was summarize classify by derivations validated mental fatigue. most representative electronic databases scope PubMed, WOS, Scopus, SPORTDiscus, PsycINFO (until September 2020) were searched for studies that included analyze quality selected scored using assessment checklist. A total 40 papers included. Most subjective scales (75%) fatigue, with small presence behavioral (n = 5) objective techniques 5). Less known about analysis combination derivations. Despite high cost complexity techniques, research applies these measures further brain processes design battery tests include three types also seems necessary.

Padel is a racket sport that has been gaining great popularity and scientific interest in recent years. It could be considered to high-intensity intermittent with valuable cardiovascular neuromuscular benefits; however, the risk of injury cannot neglected. To date, there still gap knowledge literature on this emergent sport. Therefore, present review aims synthetize current padel game dynamics better characterize main factors, rate characteristics, most effective rehabilitative treatment strategies. PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, PEDro were screened up January 2022 identify eligible studies focusing players as participants. Out 160 records, we included 19 studies, which focused match analysis, anthropometric physical training, injury, interventions. The results showed high action velocity sudden changes direction during represent factor for injuries, especially untrained players. However, heterogeneity hinders our ability draw any strong conclusions, should carefully considered. Future research address lack mechanisms type implement tailored rehabilitation program.

Mental fatigue (MF) is a psycho-biological state that impairs sports-related performances. Recently, it has been proved MF can affect basketball performance. However, systematic overview detailing the influences of on performance still lacking. This study aims to investigate effects physical, technical, tactical, and cognitive basketball. We used databases PubMed, Web Science, SPORTDiscus, Scopes, CKNI for articles published up 31 May 2021. The included in this were projected test whether athlete Only experimental design studies selected, control condition was without MF. Finally, seven fit inclusion criteria. results imply technical aspects (free throws, three-point shots, total turnover) players' [take-the-first (TTF) heuristics decision-making] performance, which athletes not using their techniques skillfully being unable make practical decisions during critical points game. This study investigated the effects of mental fatigue on rate force development (RFD) and peak during an isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP), as well its impact muscle activation measured by electromyography (EMG) median frequency. Sixteen healthy, resistance-trained males completed two sessions: a control condition mentally fatigued state induced 30-minute modified Stroop task. IMTP performance were assessed before after Mental significantly reduced RFD in later phase generation, specifically within 20%-80% maximum interval (RFD 2080 ) ( p = 0.022, d 0.638). In contrast, no significant changes observed initial 0-100 milliseconds 100 or 0-200 200 contraction, nor force. Additionally, led to increase EMG frequency for rectus femoris 0-1 second 0.040, -0.609), with medial gastrocnemius other time intervals. These findings suggest that primarily impacts stages development, affecting ability sustain develop over without compromising The indicates possible compensatory response fatigue, underscoring complex influence cognitive stress neuromuscular function. highlights importance considering activities requiring sustained progressively increasing production.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects mental fatigue on physical activity, technical and decision-making performance during small-sided games. Nine sub-elite soccer players were enrolled in study. performed two games occasions within a crossover experimental design. Before each game, they underwent fatiguing task (Stroop task) control (documentary watching) randomized, counterbalanced order. Players' technical, obtained by GPS video scouting. Results showed that distance acceleration covered per min, negative passes, passing accuracy, shot accuracy likely impaired than after protocol. Decision-making passes dribbling resulted also decreased compared with task. These findings demonstrated impacted GPS-derived, soccer-specific SSG. In conclusion, avoiding cognitively demanding tasks before playing activities may be advisable preserve players' skills.

Objective : To identify the prevalence of hormonal contraceptive (HC) use, menstrual cycle disturbances, and self-perceived physical emotional symptoms related to cycle/pill in elite female athletes. Methods One hundred eighty-six Danish athletes completed an online questionnaire assess status history, use HCs, or HC use. Results Fifty-seven percent Denmark HC, with 74% using combined HCs 26% progestin only. Sixty oral users reported having manipulated their by continuous Forty-nine non-HC had a regular cycle, while 51% experienced 1 athlete being primary amenorrheic 13 secondary amenorrhea. Menstrual disturbances were larger proportion endurance (69%) compared performing power technical disciplines. In amenorrhea was associated higher cardiovascular training volume ( P < .001). Negative menstrual/pill both users, whereas positive more often among (14%) versus (2%) .01). Notably, 13% that negative sometimes/always caused them not participate complete scheduled training. Conclusion is common athletes, continuation used manipulate relation sport competitions. does abolish dysmenorrhea, but it may reduce emotional-related side effects. are frequent volume.
