Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a class of emerging materials that synthesized based on the covalent bonds between different building blocks. COFs possess unique attributes in terms high porosity, tunable structure, ordered channels, easy modification, large surface area, and great physical chemical stability. Due to these features, have been extensively applied as adsorbents various extraction modes. Enhanced performance could be reached with modified COFs, where presented composites other including nanomaterials, carbon its derivatives, silica, metal-organic frameworks, molecularly imprinted polymers, etc. This review article describes recent advances, developments, applications COF-based being utilized methods. The their properties, synthesis approaches well composite structures reviewed. Most importantly, suggested mechanisms for analyte(s) by also discussed. Finally, current challenges future prospects methods summarized considered order provide more insights into this field.

Herein, we synthesized a kind of magnetic covalent organic framework nanohybrids (NiFe2O4@COF), and integrated it with polydimethyl siloxane silicone rubber curing agent for solid phase microextraction (SPME) fiber coating. The coating demonstrated porous uniform surface the BET specific 169.7 m2 g-1. As seven environmental analytes, NiFe2O4@COF-based SPME gave higher extraction recoveries triclosan (TCS) methyltriclosn (MTCS) than those fenpropathrin, bifenthrin, permethrin, fenvalerate deltamethrin. Several operational parameters were rigorously optimized, such as temperature, time, thermal desorption solution pH salt effect. Combined GC-ECD detection, newly developed method supplied wide linear range 0.1–1000 µg L-1 correlation coefficients > 0.9995. limits detection (LODs) quantitation (LOQs) reached low 1–7 ng 3.3–23 L-1, respectively. intra-day inter-day precisions in six replicates (n = 6 ) < 3.55% 5.06%, respectively, fiber-to-fiber reproducibility 3) was 7.64%. To evaluate its feasibility real samples, fortified TCS MTCS, at (0.2 L-1), middle (2.0 L-1) high (20.0 levels, varied between 81.9% 119.1% tap, river barreled waters well male, female children urine samples. Especially, is worth mentioning that can be recycled least 150 times nearly unchanged efficiency. Moreover, by as-fabricated much three commercial fibers (PDMS, PDMS/DVB PDMS/DVB/CAR). Overall, convenient, sensitive, efficient "green" pretreatment method, thereby possessing important application prospects trace monitoring TCS-like pollutants complex liquid matrices.
