The rapid spread of SARS-COV-2 and the millions worldwide deaths hospitalizations have prompted an urgent need for development screening tests capable rapidly accurately detecting virus, even in asymptomatic people. easy collection biomarker content saliva, together with label-free informative power surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) analysis driven creation point-of-care platforms identifying people COVID-19. Indeed, different salivary fingerprints were observed between uninfected infected Hence, we performed a retrospective SERS spectra from samples COVID-19-infected -vaccinated subjects to understand if viral components and/or immune response are implicated spectral variations. high sensitivity proposed SERS-based method highlighted persistence molecular alterations saliva up one month after first positive swab, when subject tested negative antigenic test. Nevertheless, no specific patterns attributable some proteins immunoglobulins involved COVID-19 infection its progression found, differences peak intensity, presence, position fingerprint.

Various diseases have seriously threatened the health of Chinese residents. Sensitive and accurate analysis disease markers is very important for early diagnosis, treatment, prognosis evaluation diseases. Therefore, it great clinical significance to explore a sensitive, accurate, rapid, noninvasive detection technology. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) uses light interact with gold, silver, other nanostructured materials generate strong surface plasmon resonance effect, which can significantly enhance signal molecules adsorped on surface, obtain rich fingerprints sample itself or probe super sensitivity. This technology has advantages noninvasiveness, high sensitivity, good selectivity, fast speed, low water interference, unique advantages, so application prospect in life science, testing, aspects, become kind biological potential. paper mainly reviewed research progress SERS serum, urine, saliva, tissue recent years analyzed problems challenges be solved by this prospected its future development prospects.

In response to the global need for rapid and precise detection techniques biomolecules, particularly highlighted by COVID-19 pandemic, this study explores application of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) fluorescent dyes proteins. Using nanoparticles synthesized via magnetron sputter inert gas condensation, we deposited copper, silver, platinum, gold, their bimetallic combinations on glass microfiber filters used as 3D substrates. Nanoparticles with sizes ranging from 1.5 8 nm were investigated assess effect sensitivity. Our results indicate that silver nanoparticles, an average size approximately 4–5 nm, perform best among all metals SERS, significantly enhancing The successfully demonstrates effectiveness SERS in detecting analytes such rhodamines bovine serum albumin at very low concentrations (down 10−9 mol/l Rhodamine 6G). findings underscore potential environmental monitoring diagnostics, highlighting importance nanoparticle optimization achieving high sensitivity, specificity, reliability analytical detection.

Density functional theory (DFT) calculations allow us to reproduce the SERS (surface-enhanced Raman scattering) spectra of molecules adsorbed on nanostructured metal surfaces and extract most information this spectroscopy is potentially able provide. The latter point mainly concerns anchoring mechanism bond strength between molecule as well structural electronic modifications molecule. These findings are fundamental importance for application spectroscopic technique. This review presents discusses some SERS–DFT studies carried out in Italy a collaboration universities Modena Reggio-Emilia Florence, giving an overview that we can with combination experimental DFT modeling. In addition, selection recent advancements approach reported commentary.
