Ectodermal mesenchymal stem cells (EMSCs) are harvested from the cell niche (nasal mucosa) with high therapeutic potential. To best of our knowledge, however, anti‑inflammatory properties these neural crest‑derived EMSCs have been rarely reported. The present study aimed to explore effects aerosolized EMSC‑Secretome (EMSC‑Sec) and clarify underlying mechanisms in treating acute lung injury (ALI). were isolated by adherent method identified immunofluorescence staining. EMSC‑Sec was collected evaluated using western blotting, BCA ELISA tests. Then, mouse epithelial (MLE‑12) used mimic inflammatory stimulation lipopolysaccharide (LPS). After developing an ALI model through intraperitoneal injection LPS, mice treated spray. each group underwent observation measurement preliminarily assess extent damage. H&E staining, immunohistochemical western‑blotting utilized further access impacts EMSC‑Sec. results showed that had great potential highly successful vitro vivo. mitigated LPS‑induced low inflation mild could regulate inflammation via NF‑κB(p50/p65)/NLRP3 pathway. Overall, demonstrated regulated inflammation, hoping provide a novel strategy for treatment.

Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have long been debated regarding their similarities differences in clinical presentation pathology. There has also a discussion about how common therapeutics should be used differently for each disease. Traditionally, "one size fits all" stepwise treatment chosen based on the severity of case after categorizing diseases, such as asthma or COPD. However, recently, need precise approach individual patients beyond category emphasized, especially severe cases. To achieve personalized therapy, it become necessary to focus phenotypes underlying causal molecular mechanisms (endotypes) identify key therapeutic targets, which are called treatable traits. This review discusses evidence importance identifying traits strategies broader perspective airway rather than diseases

Current needle-based vaccination for respiratory viruses is ineffective at producing sufficient, long-lasting local immunity in the elderly. Direct pulmonary delivery to resident immune cells can create long-term mucosal responses. However, criteria drug vehicle design rules that overcome age-specific changes cell functions have yet be established.
