This systematic review (SR) highlights principles for nutrient clinical trials and explore the diverse physiological functions of vitamin D beyond its traditional role in musculoskeletal system related to study designs. Thousands published research articles have investigated benefits (a example taken this SR) system, including immune, pulmonary, cardiovascular systems; pregnancy; autoimmune disorders; cancer. They illustrated D's molecular mechanisms, interactions, genomic nongenomic actions. SR was designed identify shortcomings designs, statistical methods, data interpretation that led inconsistent findings D-related publications. also examples insights into avoiding design errors future studies, randomized controlled (RCTs). The adheres latest PRISMA statement, guidelines, PICOS process. Inappropriate or flawed designs were frequent trials. Major failures discussed here include too short duration, inadequate infrequent doses, insufficient power, failure measure baseline achieved levels, recruiting D-sufficient participants. These misleading interpretations. Thus, conclusions from such studies should not be generalized used recommendations, policymaking. Adequately powered epidemiological RCTs with sufficient duration individuals deficiency reported favorable outcomes, enriching literature, enabling understand physiology mechanisms. Background Evidence of vitamin D status and cardiometabolic health in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is still limited. This study aimed to investigate the association between risk factors among T2DM Shenzhen, China. Methods cross-sectional included 164 (aged ≥18 years) who were hospitalized at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital from March 1, 2023, May 31, 2023. Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin [25(OH)D] concentration, active marker D, three major including blood pressure (BP), glucose metabolism-related indicators, lipid profiles collected. Vitamin deficiency (VDD) was defined as 25(OH)D < 20 ng/mL. Correlation, Regression, Logistic analysis applied verify serum VDD, 11 factors. Results Median concentration 21.78 [interquartile range (IQR)=17.51-28.05] The prevalence VDD 40.24%. significantly negatively correlated diastolic BP (DBP) glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) rather than systolic BP, plasma glucose, C-peptide, both correlation linear regression analysis. Furthermore, adjusted odd ratio for poor DBP control (≥90 mmHg) patients 3.164 (95% confidence interval=1.303, 7.683; P =0.011) compared those without VDD. Conclusion In China, highly prevalent associated greater cardiovascular factors, especially increased chances uncontrolled DBP. These findings suggest that levels should be monitored patients, high

Vitamin D has been widely studied for its implications on type 2 diabetes mellitus, a chronic condition characterized by insulin resistance, inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction. This review explores the molecular mechanisms underpinning vitamin D's effects glucose metabolism, adipogenesis, while assessing potential clinical applications in diabetes. In 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 form, modulates various processes, affecting proinflammatory cytokines activating AMPK pathway, inhibiting mTOR signaling, promoting adipocyte differentiation. These enhance sensitivity reduce key contributors to this context, progression of prediabetes linked D, which limits pathological increases likelihood restoring normal state, crucial progression. Moreover, reported developing 15%, particularly doses higher than traditional recommendations bone health. Despite promising evidence, discrepancies study designs, serum measurements, population-specific factors highlight need standardized methodologies personalized approaches. conclusion, complementary therapeutic treating diabetes, revealing gaps research, such as optimal dosing long-term across populations. Future studies should integrate insights into practice optimize impact
