Rotating algae biofilm reactors (RABRs) can reduce energy requirements for wastewater reclamation but require further optimization implementation at water resource recovery facilities (WRRF). Optimizing RABR operation is challenging because conditions WRRF change frequently, and disregarding interaction terms related to these changes produce incorrect conclusions about behavior. This study evaluated the two-way main effects of four factors on biomass productivity phosphorus removal efficiency a microalgae-bacteria grown in municipal anaerobic digester centrate, with factor levels operating selected mimic pilot Utah. Two-way interactions harvesting period*light intensity (LI), period*temperature, LI*hydraulic retention time (HRT) had significant productivity: high temperature low LI, highest was achieved 14-day period, medium 7-day period. At HRT, occurred LI. Phosphorus strongly influenced by LI most rapidly during first 2 days which suggests precipitation contributed significantly removal. These observations provide insight optimization.

In the energy sector, bioenergy has been utilized as a replacement for non-renewable resources. Due to depletion of resources, mankind may face adversities in future. To overcome these challenges, sustainable and reliable bioenergy-based alternatives are be used. Bioenergy sources bio-based that have become acceptable society their renewability, sustainability, environmentally friendly characteristics, but they still lag market due less cost-effective output upstream downstream processing comparison with age-old fossil fuels. This review provides detailed overview techno-economic life cycle assessment, positioning competition market, strategies might assist them overcoming challenges. Microalgal products lifting at slower rate is almost unnoticeable, assistance becoming better solution against resource future makes quite promising. The new research microalgal biomass conversion biorefinery production, which based on combating pollution reuse waste products, along strategic application competition, also highlighted.

Phycoremediation is an eco-friendly and low operational-cost technique. It promotes green technology for biofuel production, high nutrient recovery, wastewater treatment through microalgae. This review encompasses a set of algal-based remediation methods potentially toxic elements (PTEs) from agricultural discharges industrial wastewater. Large-scale algae production approaches, such as suspended cultures in open ponds or closed reactors immobilized cultures, include biofilm matrix-immobilized systems biomass the removal nutrients, well PTEs. Fundamentals PTEs using microalgae are biosorption bioaccumulation, thus, this summarizes how beneficial treatment. Further, describes recent technologies, i.e., bioreactors, high-rate algal ponds, commercial sorption, etc., used their specifications contaminants effluent. Wastewater process utilizes macro-algae both conventional facultative advanced with photo-bioreactors. also covers advancement bioremediation nutrients PTE Lastly, concluded various limitations, challenges, prospects on implications wastewater, considering carbon neutrality circular economy.
