Abstract The purpose of this study was to monitor concentration selected biological and risk elements in testes later epididymal spermatozoa motility wild boars (Sus scrofa scrofa) as well their association. Wild were hunted region Žuhračka - Levice branch plant, Slovak Republic. Testes surgically removed post-mortem transported the laboratory. Spermatozoa obtained by dissecting distal portion cauda epididymis analysed Computer assisted semen analyzer (CASA) system. Concentration measured inductively-coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) cold vapor absorption spectrometer (MA-3 Solo Mercury Analyzer). Total at level 44.29% progressive 18.47%. following order: K > Na Mg Ca Fe Zn Al Cu Se Mn As Cr Pb Mo Sr Ni Ba Cd Li Hg. Negative association observed between motility, further velocity curved line beat cross frequency. showed positive correlation with Our results suggest that some chemical accumulated from polluted environment can affect reproduction animals.

Forecasted increases in the prevalence and severity of extreme weather events accompanying changes climatic behavior pose potential risk to reproductive capacity humans animals ecological agricultural significance. While several studies have revealed that heat stress induced by challenges such as testicular insulation can elicit a marked negative effect on male system, particularly production spermatozoa, less is known about immediate impact function following subchronic whole-body exposure elevated ambient temperature. To address this knowledge gap, we exposed unrestrained mice conditions emulate wave (daily cycle 8 h at 35 °C followed 16 25 °C) for period 7 d. Neither testes or epididymides heat-exposed exhibited evidence gross histological change, similarly, spermatozoa males retained their functionality ability support embryonic development. However, embryos generated from experienced pronounced gene expression linked acceleration early embryo development, aberrant blastocyst hatching, increased fetal:placental weight ratio. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNAs (20-25 nucleotides in length) capable of regulating gene expression by binding -fully or partially- to the 3'-UTR target messenger RNA (mRNA). To date, several studies have investigated role sperm miRNAs spermatogenesis and their remaining presence toward fertilization early embryo development. However, little is known about miRNA cargo different sources possible implications boar fertility. Here, we characterized differential abundance spermatozoa from terminal segment epididymis three fractions pig ejaculate (sperm-peak, sperm-rich, post-sperm rich) comparing breeding boars with higher (HF) lower (LF) fertility after artificial insemination (AI) using high-output small sequencing. We identified five that, our knowledge, not been previously reported pigs (mir-10386, mir-10390, mir-6516, mir-9788-1, mir-9788-2). Additionally, four (mir-1285, mir-92a, mir-34c, mir-30), were differentially expressed among sourced cauda epididymis, also was found between HF LF groups mir-182, mir-1285, mir-191, mir-96. These genes key roles fertility, survival, immune tolerance, cell cycle regulation, others. Linking current findings specific proteins would help predict future AI-sires.
