Purpose This study aims to focus on understanding how different jet angles and Reynolds numbers influence the phase change materials’ (PCMs) melting process their capacity store energy. approach is intended offer novel insights into enhancing thermal energy storage systems, particularly for applications where heat transfer efficiency are critical. Design/methodology/approach The research involved an experimental numerical analysis of PCM with a temperature range 22 °C–26°C under various conditions. Three (45°, 90° 135°) two container (45° 90°) were tested. Additionally, (2,235 4,470) used explore effects outlet velocities behaviour. circular analysed using hot air inclined impingement (HAIJI) method. Findings obtained results showed that average last time step at Ф = Re 4,470 6.26% higher 135° 14.23% compared 45° angle. It also observed angle, especially 90°, much more important factor in than number. In other words, angle can be as passive control parameter storage. Originality/value offers perspective effective waste transferred air, such exhaust gases. provides valuable role inclination optimizing performance PCMs, which crucial systems.

In this innovative study, a unique approach was engaged to simulate the flow characteristics of nanofluid inside tank featuring surface subjected uniform flux. The testing fluid for investigation fabricated by incorporating alumina powders with varying shapes into water. derivation final equations involved application Darcy’s law and formulation stream function. container experienced combined efficacy both Lorentz force gravity forces. incorporation additives resulted in significant enhancement Nusselt number (Nu), demonstrating an increase 19.8% 40.28%, contingent on magnitude Hartmann (Ha). Moreover, elevation shape factor led notable rise Nu 14%. Remarkably, as Ha increased, there substantial reduction cooling rate 51.33%. Furthermore, absence Ha, escalation Rayleigh (Ra) caused surge 65.8%. This study holds paramount importance it introduces novel technique simulating sinusoidal surface, providing valuable insights complex interplay forces within container. utilization adds layer sophistication experimentation, making noteworthy contribution existing body knowledge. findings not only enhance our understanding heat transfer dynamics but also offer practical implications applications involving nanofluids containers nonuniform surfaces
