Abstract A new approach for the formation of binary and ternary mixed metal oxides, namely, CoNb 2 O 6 , NiNb Co 0.5 Ni Nb through a modified single‐source molecular precursor route was investigated. By optimizing annealing temperature, heating/cooling rates holding times, phase compositions thermal processing mixtures oxalate‐based complexes [M(bpy) 3 ] [NbO(C 4 ) ]Cl· n H (M = 2+ ( 1 or/and ); 11, 12) (NH ]·3H were evaluated. Phase‐pure columbite oxides 1− x 0, 0.5, 1) obtained in one step by heating two or three oxalate at 1200°C 10 h with rate 10°C min −1 . The (micro)structure, morphology, optical properties as‐prepared materials characterized powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD), field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM) ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis DRS). Impedance used to investigate electrical dielectric properties, providing valuable insights into charge transport dynamics. exhibits greatest conductivity series (2.64 × −11 Ω cm 120°C), orders magnitude greater than those oxide has minimum loss, but it shows maximum permittivity. Estimated band gap energies within visible light excitations prompt us their photocatalytic activities degradation methylene blue (MB) dye under irradiation without hydrogen peroxide (H ). It is evident that /H systems exhibit higher activity: efficiency MB found be between 26% 38%. In addition, cyclic stability photocatalyst investigated possible proposed mechanism substantiated scavenger analysis study.
