This research investigates the thermodynamic characteristics of chitosan as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in chloride electrolyte environments, specifically saturated sodium and 1 M hydrochloric acid, across different temperatures concentrations. The study aimed to evaluate effectiveness preventing examine adsorption process. results revealed that achieved highest inhibition efficiency 90.07% acid solution with concentration 250 mg/L at 303.15 K. In contrast, maximum was 50.50% same Thermodynamic analysis showed is spontaneous exothermic both media. standard free energy found be -38.63 kJ/mol K, decreasing -43.69 343.15 K NaCl, -42.40 -48.65 HCl. enthalpy -0.24976 NaCl 4.93560 HCl, while entropy -0.12661 J/mol·K -0.15610 Additionally, activation increased from 1.61 0 6.96 4.10 23.79 SEM confirms formation protective film, significantly reducing damage compared uninhibited conditions. These findings indicate highly effective favorable applications chloride-containing environments.

Natural marañon nutshell extract was obtained by mechanical compression. The combined with ethanol and a nonionic surfactant, it labeled as EES. EES inhibitor effect on S135 carbon steel, exposed to simulated marine-coastal environment (SME), deduced mass loss measurement, adsorption isotherm, electrochemical measurements, surface analysis. Langmuir isotherm suggested that monolayer of the attached physical–chemical interaction steel surface. increase in protective efficiency adsorbed ascribed gain coverage function concentration. It considered an antioxidant activity inhibitor, attributed mostly Fe-ion capture anacardic acid posterior ion chelation. This fact collaborated negative zeta potential extract, added SME. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) diagrams revealed polarization resistance (Rp) increased concentration, while thickness (d) Fe-oxide layer reduced ≈0.50 nm.
