ABSTRACT The conventional district metered areas (DMAs) bounded by closed valves reduce space of emergency response actions to cope with system failure or events for resilience improvement. In order improve the restorative capability a zoning water distribution (WDS), novel dynamic DMA optimization design method and coupled strategy are proposed. A multi-level is applied determine source (WSAs), pressure management (PMAs), DMAs. WDS zoning, valve closure, hydrant flushing, adjustment proposed validated in real large-scale network. results show that based on can enhance capacity during contamination flushing.
