Malaysia experiences abundant rainfall, which can potentially lead to geo-hydrological disasters. Therefore, studying the effect of climate change on rainfall events is crucial. The General Circulation Model (GCM) a well-accepted terrestrial-scale simulation approach widely employed by scientists and researchers worldwide. However, despite its comprehensive approach, GCM lacks in necessary precision at local level due coarse resolution. Consequently, employing statistical downscaling techniques becomes essential for achieving accurate simulations scale. Notably, there scarcity localized studies focusing effect, specifically Penang Island. Island was selected as study area high urbanization rate frequent current assessed impact mean annual (MAR) distribution using model (SDSM) under two representative concentration pathways (RCP4.5 RCP8.5). SDSM calibrated validated, spatial maps are generated through Kriging IDW methods observed (1990-2019) future (2070-2099) periods. results indicate that both RCPs, MAR projections increased. RCP8.5 (14.93%) shows higher where increment percentage almost double RCP4.5 (8.6%). displays strong correlation performance, with disparity 1.24% 11.73%, averaging 7.50%, between modelled results. outcomes this research hold significant implications authorities, providing valuable insights enhance preparedness response strategies concerning evolving conditions, particularly context hazards, environmental concerns, water security it crucial acknowledge study's limitation, considering only scenarios Future efforts should involve broader spectrum yield more understanding change's multifaceted unpredictable nature enhanced robustness climate-related policies.
