Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) is a protein that regulates cholesterol levels by lysosomal low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) degradation and has recently been associated with the production of neuronal oxidative stress age-associated cardiovascular dysfunction. Since increased vascular dysfunction are implicated in pathology aging various neurodegenerative disorders, targeting PCSK9 may offer promising therapeutic avenue for addressing these conditions. While precise mechanisms through which contributes to brain remain elusive, preclinical studies have highlighted neuroprotective effect linked inhibition. This inhibition shown promise reducing stress, mitigating neuroinflammation, alleviating neuropathological changes, thus underscoring potential this approach
