Membranes made from biopolymers and loaded with doxycycline were investigated for potential use in the treatment of foot ulcers diabetic patients. Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) chitosan (CHS) membranes fabricated 7% glycerol 1% (DOX). Their mechanical physical properties, biocompatibility, antimicrobial effects thoroughly evaluated. The results demonstrated effective antibacterial activity against S. aureus mutans. Based on mechanical, physical, hemolytic data, DOX-loaded CMC/CHS/G show promise as a topical wound delivery system.
