Abstract The 2020 environmental catastrophe in Pantanal has highlighted the fragility of policies and practices for managing fighting fires this biome. Therefore, it is essential to know causes circumstances that potentiate these fires. This study aimed to: (I) assess relationship between fire foci carbon absorption (GPP), precipitation, dioxide (CO 2 ) flux; (ii) analyze vegetation recovery using differenced normalized burn ratio (ΔNBR) Brazilian 2001 2022; (iii) identify priority areas, where highest intensities have occurred, order guide public Brazil maintain local conservation. To purpose, were detected data from MODIS MOD14/MYD14 algorithm, annual precipitation with CHIRPS (Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation Station data), CO flux MODIS/MODO9A1 product, Gross Primary Production (GPP) MODIS/MOD17A2 product. severity burned area was also assessed ΔNBR index risk areas determined averages images.
