Abstract As the global population grows, demand for protein‐enriched foods like meats is rising rapidly. Traditional farming practices face challenges including animal welfare, waste management, and carbon emissions, harming environment. Consequently, meat substitutes have emerged as a promising area of research an alternative to traditional livestock‐sourced meats. Cultivated meat, produced through cell culture techniques, key in cellular agriculture offers safe well‐controlled production process such future foods. The manufacturing cultivated involves several disciplines, culture, media optimization, scaffold design, advanced manufacturing, along with nutrition, taste safety topics meet consumer acceptance regulatory approvals. Although review articles addressed various aspects they tend focus on specific domains rather than comprehensive analysis this transformative technology. This highlights innovative applied findings field critical cells, materials, technologies. Furthermore, socio‐political economic impacts are explored, practical recommendations low‐cost large‐scale production. Finally, also addresses existing outlines directions development meat.

The production of tissue-engineered skeletal muscles for cell-based therapy and cultivated meat requires a large number myogenic cells capable differentiating into myotubes. A suspension culture with stirred bioreactor is system that feasibly scalable, but scaling up the while maintaining differentiation capacity an efficient technique. This remains challenging in culture. On other hand, conventional processing generates substantial by-products, including trimmings containing effective substances cell cultures. Efficiently utilizing these by-products can reduce environmental impact disposal costs. Here, we describe expansion method bovine (BMCs) using Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's medium (DMEM) supplemented muscle extracts. During 6-day planar culture, proliferation rate extracts (CMME) 10% fetal serum (FBS) was 18 ± 3.3, three times higher than achieved DMEM FBS. Furthermore, combination CMME FBS iMatrix-511-coated dish could maintain through passaging Finally, demonstrated microcarriers Through 3 passages, cumulative 191.7 35.1, four produced Using CMME, maintained comparison to DMEM. approach will contribute both reduction wasted from development high-quality cells.
