In the global pursuit of sustainable development, resilience and efficiency food supply chains are paramount. Within African context, particularly in countries like Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, ensuring agricultural logistics presents multifaceted challenges opportunities. The intricate web faced by nations achieving necessitates an in-depth exploration. Factors such as limited infrastructure, post-harvest losses, high costs, delays at ports, loadshedding, political unrest, riots, other socio-economic disparities impede development environmentally friendly socially responsible region. central argument this chapter is that indispensable components Africa's quest for economic environmental stewardship.

Agriculture accounts for a significant economic share in less-developed countries, especially Kosovo, where there is lignite-dominated energy supply. Lignite’s partial replacement with locally produced renewable sources could play an essential role reducing farmers’ costs and preparing the country EU accession. Using sample of 120 farmers, Best–Worst Scaling (BWS) technique was used to assess preferences applications measure importance seven key characteristics associated willingness become self-sufficient. The results show preference “lower costs” “environmental friendliness”. cluster analysis, it shown statistically reliable way that while decisions smaller farms are influenced by factors self-sufficiency negligible, non-negligible larger already have adopted production (solar panels, byproducts) also consider environment convenience aspects necessary their decisions. Farmers important local development. Therefore, regulatory schemes differentiation farm size may promoting management Kosovo similar less developed countries.

Despite being resource-richly endowed with various energy sources, and despite the connection of 89.8% households to grid in South Africa, Eastern Cape province, as compared other provinces, has lowest level about 64.5%. Some rural poor province supplement their free basic electricity unclean alternatives. Using alternatives is not only detrimental environment health people, but it a sign poverty among contributing factors depesantization, deagrarianization, deindustrialization which prolongs underdevelopment areas. Innovation technologies key ingredient meaningful development. The utilization small-scale biomass gasification can be solution African crisis areas, line sustainable development goal number 7, ensuring access affordable, reliable, sustainable, modern for all. Alternative renewable sources cannot ignored when dealing crises Africa. Renewable country include biomass, solar, wind, hydropower. its low technology remains pivotal reducing by producing electricity. However, affordability also plays role whether people will accept technology. purpose this paper determine possibilities using This gives comprehensive review potential link between acceptance evaluating availability achievements regards gasification. covers impact integration grid, what needs taken into consideration before installation, benefits barriers province.

In this study, the available energy potential (AEP) from agricultural and animal waste in Turkey 2021, which is an important country, was calculated using Turkish Statistical Institute data presented with digital maps prepared ArcGIS program. It determined that has a total of 4.6 × 108 GJ AEP, 3.7 104 wastes 8.7 107 wastes. Furthermore, 81.06% AEP composed wastes, 18.94% Şanlıurfa highest (4 GJ), while Konya (4.3 106 GJ). The provinces are (4.2 GJ) (3.4 With produced biomass orginating waste, nearly 40% Turkey's needs will be met. use for supply have various benefits Turkey. main are: reduction greenhouse gas emissions environmental pollution, imports into disposal waste.
