In modern ecological systems, the overuse and misuse of antibiotics have escalated prevalence antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) mobile genetic elements (MGEs), positioning them as emerging environmental contaminants. Notably, composting serves a sustainable method to recycle agricultural waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer while potentially reducing ARGs MGEs. This study conducted 47-day experiment using pig manure corn straw, supplemented with chitin N-Acetyl-D-glucosamine, explore impact these additives on dynamics MGEs, unravel interplay between microbial communities in composting.
