Early detection of foodborne bacteria is urgently needed to ensure food quality and avoid the outbreak bacterial diseases. Here, a kind metal-organic framework (Zr-MOF) modified with Pt nanoparticles (Pt-PCN-224) was designed as peroxidase-like signal amplifier for microfluidic biosensing bacteria. Taking Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157:H7 model, linear range from 2.93 × 102 108 CFU/mL limit 2 were obtained. The whole procedure integrated into single chip. Water, milk, cabbage samples successfully detected, showing consistency results standard culture method. Recoveries in 90 110% spiked testing. proposed biosensor realized specific sensitive E. within 1 h, implying broad prospects MOF biomimetic enzyme activities biosensing.

A multifunctional platform that meets the demands of both bacterial detection and elimination is urgently needed because their harm to human health. Herein, a "sense-and-treat" biosensor was developed by using immunomagnetic beads (IMBs) AgPt nanoparticle-decorated PCN-223-Fe (AgPt/PCN-223-Fe, PCN stands for porous coordination network) metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). The synthesized AgPt/PCN-223-Fe not only exhibited excellent peroxidase-like activity but also could efficiently kill bacteria under near infrared (NIR) irradiation. This enabled colorimetric E. coli O157:H7 in range 103-108 CFU/mL with limit 276 CFU/mL, accompanied high selectivity, good reproducibility, wide applicability diverse real samples. Furthermore, possessed highly effective antibacterial rate 99.94% against 808 nm light irradiation 20 min. strategy can provide reference design novel versatile biosensors discrimination applications.
