Abstract This research aimed to produce thermochromic composite filaments by utilizing poly(lactic acid) (PLA) as a matrix and two distinct additives (red yellow colors). To with ratios ranging from 10 40 phr, different quantities of masterbatch were integrated into the PLA through an extrusion process. The physical, mechanical, thermal properties, behavior further examined. results indicated that had minimal impact on mechanical while also revealing two‐phase separation between smooth spherical particle in filaments. Moreover, analysis revealed increase ratio masterbatches led more pronounced coloration clearer color changes, especially red thermochromics indicating temperature variations below 22°C over 65°C, respectively. sample containing phr exhibited most intense noticeable change. Furthermore, these can be utilized 3D print various prototype products. Highlights Thermochromic bioplastic for printing successfully prepared. unveiled vivid changes.
