The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects novel edible films produced by incorporating Dracocephalum kotschyi (D. kotschyi) essential oil nanoemulsion into a polymeric matrix (chitosan-gelatin) with grape preservative potential during room temperature storage. To achieve goal, films' mechanical, microstructural, and physical characteristics were examined. Next, an antimicrobial analysis conducted on five food-borne pathogens, results indicated that 5% (ChG4) might be efficiently have antibacterial action against particular pathogens. Additionally, integration resulted in creation microporous structures films, as demonstrated SEM studies. A positive impact ChG4 film preservation 15 days' storage observed. findings afford innovative approach for expansion effective herbal formulation food preservation.

Using renewable resources for food packaging not only helps reduce our dependence on fossil fuels but also minimizes the environmental impact associated with traditional plastics. Starch has been a hot topic in field of current research because its low cost, wide source and good film forming property. However, comprehensive review this is still lacking. Starch-based films offer promising alternative sustainable industry. The present paper covers various aspects such as raw material sources, modification methods, formation mechanisms. Understanding physicochemical properties potential commercial applications crucial bridging gap between practical implementation. Finally, application starch-based industry discussed detail. Different modifications starch can improve mechanical barrier films. addition active substances to endow them more functions. Therefore, these factors should be better investigated optimized future studies functionality In summary, provides information latest progress
