Discharging large amounts of domestic and industrial wastewater drastically increases the reactive nitrogen content in aquatic ecosystems, which causes severe ecological stress biodiversity loss. This paper reviews three common types denitrification processes, including physical, chemical, biological mainly focuses on membrane technology for recovery. The applicable conditions effects various treatment methods, as well advantages, disadvantages, influencing factors technologies, are summarized.
