Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a remarkable semiconductor catalyst that has attracted widespread attention as visible light photo-responsive, metal-free, low-cost photocatalytic material. Pristine g-C3N4 suffers fast recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, low surface area, and insufficient absorption, resulting in efficiency. This review presents the recent progress, perspectives, persistent challenges development g-C3N4-based materials. Several approaches employed to improve absorption materials including metal non-metal doping, co-doping, heterojunction engineering have been extensively discussed. These approaches, general, were found decrease material's bandgap, increase reduce charge carrier recombination, promote thereby enhancing overall performance. The material widely used for different applications such hydrogen production, water splitting, CO2 conversion, purification. work also identified various limitations weaknesses associated with hinders its maximum utilization under illumination presented state-of-the-art solutions reported recently. summary this would add an invaluable contribution photocatalysis research facilitate efficient light-responsive semiconducting

Abstract This study proposes the construction of porous nanomaterial (HOFs@Fe 3+ ) which anchors non‐noble metal ions Fe onto nanoscale rod‐like hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) by electrostatic and coordination interactions. The high specific surface area abundance hydrogen‐bond adsorption active sites in pore structure HOFs@Fe facilitate strong interactions with double OH bisphenol A (BPA), resulting highest saturation BPA that has been reported so far (452 mg g ‐1 ). In addition, ordered conjugate stacking framework hydrogen bond variable valence properties create new pathways for efficient separation photogenerated carriers. results show can completely adsorb photodegrade 50 ppm within 20 min, owing to abundant acts both as accelerate mass transfer process catalytic ensure photodegradation be matched synergistically. Meanwhile, efficiency photocatalytic H 2 production reaches 21.55 mmol h co‐catalyst. tri‐functional material capacity, efficiency, activity successfully used solve long‐standing conflict between environment energy.

Abstract Graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C 3 N 4 ) assisted photocatalytic production of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O has already attracted the interest many researchers due to its environmental sustainability. Nevertheless, inherent drawbacks g‐C limit progress. Metal‐free modification strategies, including nanostructure design, defect introduction, doping, and heterojunction construction, have been developed improve efficiency H production. Compared metal modification, metal‐free strategies avoid use precious metals leaching heavy ions, which advantages good stability friendliness. However, a comprehensive review from modified by is still lacking. This first recaps mechanism , photoexcitation, carrier separation redox reactions. Then, perspective advances in photocatalysts are presented, with special focus on kernel connection between different based pivotal stages Subsequently, recent applications ‐based for situ generated mainly water purification organic synthesis, briefly discussed. Finally, prospects envisioned hope that it will “something do” field
