Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are important precursors for the formation of secondary pollutants, such as fine particulate matter (PM) and ozone (O3), which will lead to severe atmospheric environmental problems restrict sustainable development social economy. Catalytic oxidation is a safe, eco-friendly, simple method eliminating VOCs, can be converted into CO2 H2O without generation other harmful substances. The fabrication catalysts very crucial enhance catalytic efficiency removal VOCs. noble metal catalyst one commonly used VOCs because high reaction activity, good stability, poisoning-resistant ability, easy regeneration. In this review, research progress (Pt, Pd, Au, Ag, Ir) in recent years was summarized with discussion influence factors preparation process on performance. mechanisms over corresponding were also briefly discussed.

Abstract Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions are a factor in number of environmental issues. To reduce the associated negative consequences, it is crucial to develop efficient VOCs removal systems. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) co‐catalytic technology has become popular research topic this field as result its ability activation energy reaction while simultaneously improving product selectivity. Despite huge studies synthesising use metals and their oxide catalysts degradation VOCs, metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) MOF derivatives subject comparatively few area. This paper reviews basic principles technological progress NTP degradation, with focus on MOFs well other non‐metallic carbon materials degradation. It highlights potential future development direction catalytic synergistic treatment by focusing optimization synergism impact. In end, challenges faced, prospects, our personal perspective directions also estimated elucidated.

In contrast to previous defect engineering methods, the preparation of amorphous materials can obtain abundant sites through a simple way, which is expected effectively degrade Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) under milder conditions. However, in-depth and systematic studies in this area are still lacking. Novel types CeMnx catalysts with defects were prepared hydrothermal synthesis used for Cl-VOCs catalysis first time. Experimental characterizations DFT calculations proved that Ce doping induced MnO2 lattice distortion, led transformation into an structure formation sites. It was observed CeMn0.16 able eliminate chlorobenzene (CB) at 200 °C, CO2 yields selectivity inorganic chlorine significantly higher than MnO2. The 18O isotope kinetic experiments revealed interfacial reaction process followed MVK mechanism. large number oxygen vacancies accelerated migration from interior exterior, enhancing ability trap gas-phase oxygen. Mn4+ acted as main active center participate CB catalysis, resulting reactive species (ROS) Mn3+-[O2–]-Ce4+ further entire oxidation cycle.
